It's easier to call me a troll, a t w a t egocentric etc etc rather than debating the points themselves. Rather sums up certain posters on this forum. There used to be a rule on here 'play the ball not the man.' The forum would be a much better place if people followed this even a little bit.
-
Fabulous response and nice to see the points are being debated in a proper manner. A truly great response well done.
-
Why is it that you think that? Because it differs with your own? It speaks volumes that rather than try and counter the points I made (particularly post 219) you would prefer to call me a t w a t. It's likely that I disagree with some of your views. Established posters like Old Nick and Crab Lungs also disagree with me frequently, but unlike you they reply to my posts in a civil manner and often we find some common ground as they try to see both sides of an argument without resorting to abuse.
-
Because Dr Who called me a c*ck and patronising when my reply was nothing of the sort, he was just incorrect in his views. He clearly didn't understand that the first time (or deliberately chose not to) and so I thought I would try and make it clearer in the vain hope that he may understand. I accept that it is unlikely that he will realise or accept the truth but it's worth a shot!

It is entirely possible to appreciate the good points of someone whilst recognising things they have done wrong, mistakes they have made and things that could do with improvement. You may not imagine it judging by some of the posters on here but it is.
-
Again with the insults. I don't feel the need to insult you just because I disagree with you, so why do you do it? It's not patronising at all. I quite explicitly said that Cortese has done some brilliant things. At times when Cortese has done something I deem worthy of praise then I say so. I praised him when we won promotion and also when we signed Cork (you can go back and check if you can be bothered.) Yet somehow because it suits your argument, suddenly I only highlight the negative things and I am desperate for NC to fail. It's quite sad how much you have ignored in order to form your incorrect (and abusive) opinion.
-
Attacking the poster and not answering the posts. Again.
-
Yep. Although you have a few different views to my own, generally you can can discuss them without getting all abusive or militant about it. TBH I consider you to be an example of the good old days of saintsforever where you could take the p*ss on banter central (tubgirl et al) and then discuss sensible saints topics as well without getting into the stupid name calling. I also love your pompey comic strips, they made me lol. Many of the old posters I remember fondly who don't post anymore. It's a shame that some of the new posters have tuurned the main board especially into such a w*nk place to visit unless you agree with everything posted.

All done with money. Money doesn't make someone a good chairman.
-
You've changed your tune Steve. Some would question your about turn re club issues.
-
The vast vast majority are down to the money
-
So he has made some wrong decisions. Maybe we have made a breakthrough. I'll ignore the personal and play the ball not the man if that's ok with you.
-
I genuinely think it is not the chairman that people like but the fact that he has money from the liebherrs which means he can do the positive things. If he had the same level of finance as say Lowe had to deal with then I wonder who would be preferred then looking purely at their approaches. I think it would be a close run thing. (cue a load of posters suggesting I said I would prefer Lowe to cortese which isn't what I said at all.)
-
Don't forget banning season ticket holders with no explanation something which the independent ombudsman said was unacceptable. I wouldn't expect the vast majority on here to accept anything that you say since the only thing a lot care about is winning at any cost. Such a shame but that's modern football for you...
-
Again you only see what you want to see and choose to totally ignore comments such as the one I made on the jack cork thread praising sfc and cortese because it suits your argument. It's a common theme on here and you even chose to ignore the post on this very thread which I highlighted the relevant points where I described some of what cortese has done as 'brilliant'. Sad.
-
I'm surprised he didn't consider a more appropriate choice of image for the first game of the season. I highly doubt it was someone elses decision.
-
Ive addressed that point in response to trousers already. Do keep up.
-
I said what I had to say in the post a little bit above last night. Since then I haven't mentioned anything yet received no reply, simply personal stuff. Pretty much sums up some posters.
-
I see you are unable to post relevant points about this and resort to the personal stuff benji. Twas ever thus.
-
Not Jerusalem please Scotty. Blake used to sit naked in trees all day. And erm his poem makes little sense. Neither does much of his stuff to be fair.
-
WTF are you talking about? Where did I claim to know anything? I'm simply commenting on the reports by Solent and various newspaper reports that talks broke down between the players and the clubs for whatever reason. It's a shame.
-
I also expected you to be up at this ungodly hour you scallywag.
-
Again, can you just read what is written rather than going off on one with your reactions? My post above for instance outlines my thoughts on the matter. A well reasoned response would be most welcome.
-
But in fairness could easily have been created following the Solent tweet. Doesn't look like we are getting him though and that's a real shame that both our targets couldn't agree terms with us.
-
yes maybe. As I said, it's more the hypocrisy of those who laud this as some sort of legendary thing when if it had been any other chairman in the land would have been derided and called a buffoon. I imagine if this was shown to other supporters of clubs then this would be the general reaction. I also think since Nicola has been here that there have been a few situations which have been badly handled and the club has come in for some criticism from a number of different people when if they had just done things slightly differently could have caused a lot less grief. One recent notable example is not notifying the public about the recent season ticket c*ck up and then telling people different things. There is almost a mentality of refusing to ever admit to getting anything wrong. I also get the impression that at times we are extremely difficult to deal with due to this arrogance and ego of the club (think the serious error of judgement in banning the photographers). Basically, if Cortese is so arrogant as to put himself on the front cover of the programme (when really the very last saints fans in general would be interested in is the chairman), then it is not inconceivable to think that previous gripes and complaints have been borne from this same arrogant attitude causing problems. There are numerous examples, some excusable but others rather less so as I am sure you are aware.
