yes maybe. As I said, it's more the hypocrisy of those who laud this as some sort of legendary thing when if it had been any other chairman in the land would have been derided and called a buffoon. I imagine if this was shown to other supporters of clubs then this would be the general reaction. I also think since Nicola has been here that there have been a few situations which have been badly handled and the club has come in for some criticism from a number of different people when if they had just done things slightly differently could have caused a lot less grief. One recent notable example is not notifying the public about the recent season ticket c*ck up and then telling people different things. There is almost a mentality of refusing to ever admit to getting anything wrong. I also get the impression that at times we are extremely difficult to deal with due to this arrogance and ego of the club (think the serious error of judgement in banning the photographers). Basically, if Cortese is so arrogant as to put himself on the front cover of the programme (when really the very last saints fans in general would be interested in is the chairman), then it is not inconceivable to think that previous gripes and complaints have been borne from this same arrogant attitude causing problems. There are numerous examples, some excusable but others rather less so as I am sure you are aware.

Oh and it means win it for ricky martin. I felt sorry that a kind old man (Markus RIP) died but at the time was amused by the ridiculous overreaction of a few of the posters on here to someone who they had never even spoken to. That culminated in the WIFM thing that Alpine made up which I felt was quite sickening and insincere. Nothing to do with Markus himself at all, just the silly reactions of a minority on here.

The football league letter isn't speculation, that excellent Coventry defender being critical of the club isn't speculation, S****horpe being critical of the club isn't speculation, Eastleigh being critical of the club isn't speculation.

Patred has heard things from discussions with players including those at Ipswich who he works with, rumours on twitter about agents refusing to deal with us, Jemal pulling out of a deal, Gorkss not wanting to join, the letter that Cortese sent the football league chairman.

Just wanted to reinforce that point for posters who refuse to read and comprehend what is being said.

Quite obviously Markus. It was his finance and so he is the reason we are where we are. Nicola is an employee. I find it rather ridiculous that a chairman feels the need to put himself on the front cover of the programme on the first game of the season. It doesn't make him look particularly classy, comes off as extremely arrogant and seems quite distasteful to me as I prefer the football to be the face of the club with the employees kept in the background getting on and doing a good job. After all, he is supposedly a custodian.

Well trousers I predicted that response. Difference is I think Cortese has done some brilliant stuff but I'm also not afraid to say he looks like a buffoon when he quite clearly does. The ridiculous cries of 'legend' or similar (when if it was any other chairman in the football league those same posters would be wetting themselves with laughter) just reinforces the view that some have a blind spot when it comes to any sort or criticism of Nicola. IMO there is nothing at all wrong with recognizing the good that Cortese has done whilst also realizing that at times he has made himself look rather idiotic. This is one of those times.

I could have predicted the responses of about six posters on this thread. Always the same ones.

Just my opinion, but I prefer my chairmen behind the scenes doing what they are paid to do, not on the front cover of the programme.

The breathtaking hypocrisy from those having a go at those who think it's embarrassing is the funny thing, not the cover itself. I can just imagine the exact same people's reaction had it been Lowe who had done similar. It's extremely cringeworthy and suggests an enormous ego. Also tallies with the stories that he was desperate for everyone to give him the credit at certain times and not markus. Hilarious reaction from the same old faces.
