Saints 4-0 Sheffield Wednesday - Saturday 3pm
hypochondriac replied to goodymatt's topic in The Saints
Including me! I have to say this second half is the best I've seen us play this season. Some of the football we played was unreal. -
What a fortunate position we are in that any extra signings are nice to have rather than being fundamental to our season. We will almost certainly get a winger in but even if we don't, I've got faith we have enough in the squad to get the job done.
-
So you'd rather Southampton failed to get the players they have earmarked as the ones they want because there is a chance that they might not work out? Interesting stance.
-
Think it was earlier this week or last week. Toney scored a hat trick.
-
It's not about how we personally feel about players. I want the club to get the players that they deem to be good enough because they are more likely to do well.
-
Realistically why would they allow him to depart to a direct rival midway through the season?
-
It might be that he doesn't suit their system. The point is not looking at things with hindsight and then suggesting that losing out on our targets is a good thing. I want to see us landing the targets we want because it gives us the best chance of promotion. Like I said though, I would hope in this case we would have the edge.
-
Lots of reports at the time that we were interested. Supposedly chose Leeds because they wanted him more. Not that it matters.
-
That wasn't the point I was making. I'd rather not lose out on a player we want more than once to a direct rival. Am hoping we'd swing it anyway.
-
Regarding Che, it's very likely that any replacement we get in would have to be replaced again in the summer if we did get promoted. It's likely we'd have to get a loan in and no guarantees they will be better. I'd keep him personally till the summer until we know where we are then he can go with our blessing. Expect we will get rid though if an acceptable bid comes in.
-
Would be pretty gutting to lose Brooks to Leeds after they pipped us to Piroe in the summer. You would hope the fact that we are so close to Bournemouth might swing it.
-
There's a HCDAJFU for this.

I don't think Smallbone going is obvious. I could realistically see a team of: Bazunu Bree Stephens new signing Manning Adam Armstrong Charles Smallbone Edozie Aribo Stewart Now we may lose a couple of them and we would certainly need to strengthen at the back, but we won't be starting again the same way we have had to this year. We will have a lower quality squad but the advantage of having less players having to learn the new system. I reckon we'd have an excellent chance of automatic promotion if we fail this year. Let's hope we don't have to go through it though because losing our best players will be quite gutting.

I have a bad feeling about this one. I reckon our run will end I think in a game we don't expect like this one. 1-2 is my prediction hope I'm wrong! -
Wednesday looking in great form just before they play us.

Worth pointing out I ignored soggy and all his posts for over a year. He continued to refer and reply to me the entire time...
-
Is Stewart definitely out for the season? Certainly an odd one.
-
I'd say 20 points woukd be a good return. Anything more would be excellent.

Refusing to continue to fund a foreign war with an indeterminate end date is a legitimate political policy to have- whether anyone on here agrees with it or not. It's hardly the rogue dictator in the style of North Korea like someone on here was suggesting.
-
Not sure I believe that. Stu was up for going but we persuaded him to stay in the summer apparently. If his wages were unaffordable then he'd have been out the door.
-
Also "transfer talk from across Europe" and then 99% of his tweets are about saints.

Good then we agree. There's some Democrats with absolutely ridiculous views as well and they have thus far failed to enact constitutional change too. Thankfully the system seems to work rather well in that regard. I'd much rather trump wasn't the nominee but it's for the American people to deicde. That's democracy and some of the wretched predictions about what he is going to do are just laughable. There are controls in place and a process for a reason.
-
Lynsey Graham has said loads of ridiculous things he's a joke in America. Earlier I said I'd be happy. To wager an amount to charity if term limits were changed if Trump gets a second term. I'm happy to offer that to anyone who thinks differently. It's not going to happen clearly just like nuclear war and everything else predicted during the first term didn't happen either.
-
"drain the swamp" and then he did feck all when in power which is pretty much what he will do if he gets a second term. If he gets in there will be a load of screeching, gnashing of teeth and crying from the same people as last time and the outcome will be broadly similar. Trump will continue to say stupid stuff because he's essentially all mouth and no trousers who didn't even expect to win last time. He had ample opportunity during his last four years to do all the things that some people on here and Twitter are wetting themselves over and he did none of it. No changing of the constitution, no nuclear holocaust, no Russia collusion hoax. Like I said, you give him way too much credit.
