  1. Sigh. I thought I asked politely as well but you've just ignored my entire post. What a shame.
  2. How terrible and depressing is it that these conversations even have to be had. Bollards of peace indeed.
  3. But details were known. I'd appreciate a completely honest reply. When you hear around Christmas time that a potential terror attack has occurred that involves someone mowing down people in a car, are you honestly telling me hand on heart that it would be impossible for you to make an assumption that the perpetrator is likely an Islamist? Because I know you're not unintelligent. To butcher an analogy slightly: If you put your hand into a biscuit tin and pulled out a cookie 95% of the time, it would be a completely reasonable assumption that the next biscuit you take out is incredibly likely to be a cookie yes? Even if it turns out to be a digestive that you pull out next, your reasonable assumption is still not incorrect. How is this style of terror attack at this time of year any different?
  4. It's not news. He's been posting memes and trolling journalists for a good few years now. When journalists contact him for comment they get a poop emoji as a reply.
  5. Thanks. So according to that first link he's potentially someone mentally ill who isn't part of any particular group who chose to emulate a method of killing almost exclusively preserved for Islamist nutters. Doesn't sound like there was much that German authorities could have done to prevent it sadly other than erecting more festive bollards.
  6. Last I heard this wasn't conclusive with significant contradictions on his social media postings. I haven't looked into it too much though so didn't know if there had been an update.
  7. Probably worth highlighting this post from last week. I'm happy to make another amazing prediction that the next attack like this will also be an Islamist nutter. Just call me nostradamus.
  8. Remember it's evil and prejudiced to hear about a car mowing down innocent people over the Christmas period and speculate that he perpetrator is statistically very likely to be an Islamist. Did we find out if this was the case for the bloke in Germany by the way?
  9. It's America so just as likely to be a loon with a gun than an Islamist.
  10. At this point I'm wondering what we are actually preserving because I genuinely can't remember the last thing I watched on the BBC where it felt like that. Maybe an Attenborough documentary or something but even those are on Netflix now anyway.
  11. That's used to be the case for me. Can't say I've felt that much recently outside of major sporting events.
  12. Every year and it's still hilarious.
  13. It was all over twitter - not sure why- and I was shocked and appaled by the details as I hadn't seen it before. I would say it very much is important to read about. Edit: now being remarked upon by MPs so clearly of relevance to this thread.
  14. When did supermarkets switch their business model? It seems only a couple of years ago they started removing all discounts from stores and sticking them behind the walls of their loyalty cards.
  15. I meant terrestrial telly. It's a live broadcast but you know what I mean surely.
  16. Stating that there's nothong to be learnt from sending humans to Mars is akin to that quote from the 1800s that said that everything that can be invented has been invented I.E it's abject nonsense.
  17. TBF Italian broadcast TV is much worse than anything on UK telly. Doesn't really matter though as I haven't watched live TV in years apart from Wallace and Gromit at Christmas so it doesn't affect me. Just don't pay the license.
  18. He is white, straight and male though so it's not that revolutionary.
  19. I don't want to see him removed from office undemocratically, I just would rather he didn't get a knighthood because it cheapens it and he's upset a lot of people. I also wouldn't want Boris getting one for the same reasons.
  20. When you buy discounted stuff from the supermarket and the little stickers are almost impossible to scan so it takes forever.
  21. Was there any tangible benefit to walking on the moon? Has there been no technological advancements or improvements as a result of that mission? Is the same point because there very obviously was incredible technological advancement from this sort of mission and it's a clear and tangible benefit. Anyway even though you're being a bit prickly about it it seems we agree. Musk can be an ego maniac and an arseholes but he can also have an incredibly positive impact on humanity for the reasons outlined.
  22. See below Exactly which was my point which seems to have been missed. By any metric if it ever happens it will be an astounding achievement and arguably the greatest human feat.
  23. Eh? I absolutely would if confronted with the graphic details of child rape like that. I was equally scathing of the likes of huw Edwards for supporting this sort of industry even though what he did was not the end of the world. I'm sure you're aware of the scandal involved with many of these cases and the amount of time and effort it took for something to be done to allow these convictions to take place. I listened to a podcast from one of the victims recently it was a real scandal.
