The Starmer Years - Can The New Broom Sweep Clean?

Sure. Resigning when given virtually no option and reporting yourself after you've had a KC looking at it the previous week to look for the wrongdoing is so honourable. -

She only self referred after it was investigated and she realised she was bang to rights. Apparently they had a KC looking at it last week before they even publicly admitted anything. She deserves no credit for resigning, she has clearly only done so because she was told she should resign or be pushed. -
Where would he play? We wouldn't have room for him.

This wasn't complex. If she had listened to the advice she was given and received proper qualified advice on the stamp duty then it would have been very clear. She got expert advice from two different legal firms that she get expert opinion and ignored it. As housing minister she was either incompetent to the degree that she shouldn't be in government or she knew about it and did it anyway not thinking she would get found out. Either is shite. -

100%. All MPs should have much higher salaries but it should be much easier to remove them if they aren't doing their job or renege on promises and do things they haven't been elected to do. -

I mean that HMRC would have lost out on thousands of pounds had she not been called out. As housing minister and deputy prime minister she has rightly been forced to resign and if anything it's even worse if her motivations for getting into politics was to help people. She's helped herself. -

Came into politics to help people and leaves the front bench with loads of money and in disgrace having failed to help people and having cost the taxpayer money it can ill afford. -

It shouldn’t be controversial to say that those who make the law can’t break the law. But we have to set the bar far higher than that. Our country is stuck in a dangerous rut. Everywhere you look things are broken. And nothing gets fixed. People say to me when they look at those running the country, they see a group of people totally detached from reality, whose words mean nothing, and who put their own interest first. what you will always get from me is someone who believes honesty and integrity matter. -

Not exactly the adults back in the room or the grown ups being I charge again is it? Not being as bad as the Tories -still time of course -is hardly a ringing endorsement of this party. -
Yep Bazunu Mads THB Stephens Manning Downes Charles Fellows Azaz Fraser Archer Would be my guess.

I think there's weaknesses but I can't really see how anyone could rate us a 4. That seems much to harsh imo.
-
You say that but I'd say all the teams we've played so far have matched or surpassed us for at least significant periods of each game. Arguably we've been second best in all of them.
-
Yes that's the risk we now have to take, that our new setup can improve the type of chances we create to the degree that our strikers can actually score.

That's not a shift. That's been the case the entire time. -
Haven't we statistically created more chances than any other team?
-
Interesting. Certainly compared to our shower where we didn't give much of a shit about losing anyone beyond about two players.
-
I'm guessing they wanted Stephens to fulfill that role. I don't disagree though, it's why I really wanted us to sign Romeu even if he is a bit slower and less capable than before.
-
Right then now that's finished. It's pretty hard to rate any window. Last year my rating was much too high. On paper we've done an excellent job of replacing the players we have lost and adding some threat going forwards. I'm concerned about our defence but I'm hoping that gets sorted and we couldn't realistically add another cb. We didn't have to keep Stephens but it's a choice and we probably would have replaced with another experienced player so I'm not too upset about it on reflection. Bit one for me as I've mentioned is in attack where I don't really think we have enough and we're relying on some of these players to suddenly find form. The Downs signing and the amount we paid for him seems inexplicable to me personally. Overall though I think it's been a good window. 7/10.
-
You could imagine them coming up with them around the office. Media team have done a great job tbf
-
Good way to end the window
-
What's the point of having a window then. Ridiculous.
-
Correct. Waiting game now for the winger and cheeky romeu on a free.
-
Truth. Finishing a game on level 9 is disgusting though.
-
Saints keeping us waiting. Shame they couldn't have just announced it early doors then we could do something else!
