    The Watch story

only from Derry and FF on the false dawn thread. FF's rumour was that they were trying to sell prior to Markus' death. Hence me linking this story as hopefully this makes FF's rumour less likely to be true.
  4. thought it was just me getting old when I found the northam more irritating and moved to Itchen. Hurt my leg in car accident couple of years ago, so was quite happily sitting down watching the game - when some spotty git told me I most love the skates as I wasn't standing up to "stand up if you hate the skates". It was hard to argue with his intellectual logic - so I explained his error in a way he could understand!

    The Watch story

this doesn't read like people trying to sell the club to me as some posters today are suggesting was the case at the time
  6. Barnard training today.
  7. liar Gully still being classed as loan btw
  8. has it been said he needs an op or was this made up?
  9. echo went with their "nicola who" article rubbishing the link, then guradian printed this Saint says no to Milan If the club you own are the six-times European champions and you are looking for someone to join their board, sounding out the man who runs a club in the English League One would not normally be the first port of call. But that is precisely what appears to have occurred to the Milan owner and Italian prime minister, Silvio Berlusconi, pictured. Nicola Cortese, Southampton's chairman, was recently approached by a representative for Berlusconi informing him of that gilded club's interest in taking him on. It is strongly possible that the contact was made on the recommendation of Giancarlo Giorgetti, an influential member of Berlusconi's Northern League party who just so happens to be a massive Saints fan. Just don't ask Digger why that is. But Cortese is understood to have declined the approach, favouring his current employment where he enjoys an adamantine relationship with the club's billionaire owner, Marcus Liebherr. then echo retracted their "nicola who" confirming there was contact. Not got a clue the truth of it but that is how it was reported in hard copy echos and guardian on line
  10. having read this forum and believing it all - I think they are selling as NC is a devil worshipper and can no longer afford to keep a management team of O'Neill/Keegan/Shearer and Adkins
  11. if we do badly there will be a back lash - if we do well fans wil be fine with it
  12. last four or five games is step back from the 2nd half of last season. but on 12 months comparison we are better placed, test is will we be better placed in 12 months time
  13. it was in the echo. They printed p1ss take artivle saying "nicola who" then couple of days later confirmed they had it confirmed from italy that they had approached him.
  14. none of them played much football recently and all taken off before the end - possibly preparation for Saturday
  15. echo later retracted.
  16. false dawn? 1 year in, team has progressed, support is up - that is a dawn - will prgress be sustained? Suspect yes but next 8 weeks or so are vital to regain momentum
  17. King James I
  18. please post again....
  19. judging a football chairman is pretty easy 1) team results 2) entertainment 3) from those, and pricing - ticket sales. If we go up he is doing well, and crowds will be very good.

  23. is this echo article you refer to http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4874240.AC_Milan_revealed_as_club_that_approached_Saints_for_Cortese/
  24. we probably would have sold more, at lower prices, but they haven't got pricing and marketing far wrong judging by sales for this level
  25. season ticket sales were up this season.
