of course he is allowed. Just wish highly paid footballers were as dedicated to maximising their performance as other sportsman are - divers, runner, rowers etc - wouldn't happen as they know (as do footballers) it adversely effects their performance

they need to be able to perform their role - don't think I would like a surgeon who had been drinking til 3 operating on me next day. I know he had no game for a week but to perform his role he needs to be in peak fitness. He would be fitter if he wasn't out p1ssed at the weekend.

sorry but far to many assumptions in that. He could have been bailed for numerous reasons - from establishing whether he was involved at all as significant offender, id issues -who did what- or getting medical evidence as to level of injury. We know so little, the likely outcome is anything from no charge to years in prison.

Interesting comparison : when we played the little cherries in the cup - Pardew said Howe's tactics confused him. after Saturday Vital Little Cherries forum was full of their fans moaning that Adkins beat them with his tactics and Howe didn't react.

Changed the shape with Fonte going into RB position when KD has the ball. Last 4 games - P4 W2 D2 L0 F4 A1 Won't be far off if we carry on like that.

all the drinking players mentioned would have been likely to have performed better if they were better athletes.

perhaps Rooney and Gerrard would not have played hugely below their undoubted ability in the world cup if they lived their life's differently? Top performers in rowing, diving etc stop drinking and late nights years before an event to ensure they will be at their best - but footballers believe they can be at their physical peak while staying up getting p1ssed every week. Clearly not uncommon though

personally don't think players should go out getting p1ssed, more dedicated less rewarded sportsman don't. But they do.
