Hoddle, took over in jan 2000 when we had won something like 4 games. Relegation team. Kept us up. Next season left end of March, with us 8th in premiership, 9 points off Arsenal with game in hand, left us in a run of 7 straight clean sheets and 5 straight wins. Most optimistic I have been about a saints managers - far far more than WGS.

I agree that is how NC seems, just would be surprised if he truly expected more

meant to their expectations, they were doing better under Southgate and went backwards when they signed WGS

we increased owe crowd this season by 3,000 after relegation. no relegated club did that, nor any club staying the same division. significant part of that is due to Pardew, his style of football and players he signed.

There is no way they expected to definately be going up this season, hoped -yes, aimed for - yes, not expected. If they expected it, and wanted to sack Pardew should he fail they could have done that at the end of September when it was clear Pardew could not guarantee it! Disagree with most of the post as above.

beating Luton earnt prize money in itself, also gave chance to play Ipswich, crowd of over 20,000. it also gave us chance to beat Ipswich for more prize money. and chance to play skates, live on tv with crowd of over 31,000. if we had won yesterday we would be no better off.
