can't be bothered to start again so... since this last thread we beat Stockport and drew with Exeter. So another 4 points from 2 games and keeping spot on 2 points per game. This remains the form (this is now for months) which would have put us around automatic places - not running away with league though so hopefully some improvement over coming months.

Good yardstick for me will be the points per game Pardew achieves from October until the end of the season. Ignoring the -10. NC could say to AP, you were given time (2 months) to start sorting the issues out. You have been backed in 2 transfer windows. Its not been your team for 8 months. If we are achieving over 2 points per game - then that looks good for next season. If we are below that I think he will want convincing by Pardew about how he is going to increase it over the summer. We are about that mark now.

I would say that out of these possibles; this year - promotion from league 1 next year - or promotion for league 1 if failed this year year 3 challenging for promotion from CCC The challenging for promotion this year would always have been the long shot. We should be looking at promotion next year, (no god given guarantee) and no reason that if promoted we could challenge in first year in CCC
