those moaning, if that was the league table would you still moan? if not, then the issue is not so much Pardew wasting money, or not being able to sort the team out but that we started far too slowly. Whether that was Pardew's fault, the lack of preparation, the players he inherited - or the lack of confidence and winning mentality in the club, is a matter of opinion.

fact - with 10 points we would be 3 points but with better goal difference off play offs. Not bad. fact shortly before the season started we were nearly out of business had no manager. fact - we didn't have any decent forwards who wanted to play for us. fact - Pardew sorted the team out and for the last 4 months we have averaged 2 points a game. fact - we could still play a lot better fact -we all want the play offs.

If we had Pardew and Markus in place earlier I think it is very reasonable to suggest that form shown over the last 4 months would have started at the beginning of the season. we have been averaging over 2 points a game for about the last 4 months and if we had started season with this team, and preseason, likely we would have all season. That would put us level with Leeds.

no its suggests a serious concerted effort to make up the -10 and slow start (no early signings) to get to the play offs. Without those we would easily be in the play offs.

oh for the days of Lowe arguing with Crouch and Wilde, us losing all of the time, with no chance of ever seeing Wembley, or being on ITV playing in last 16 of fac cup. Pardew / Cortesse / Markus are under achieving. Bring back the days of monthly manager changes!
