most forwards in this country would love to score 1 in every three games. Lambert has just done that. His shot made our second yesterday. His performance was good. He will score more league goals for us this season than most of us can remember a saints player doing. Not at all concerned.

James who Pardew rates very highly and sees as a CM and Gillett who a CCC side are keen to keep? Not bad for 4 and 5th choices!

imagine if they were in league 1 with us. We would be getting 20,000. They would get about 5,000.

Strange way he keeps talking about the "Mellis replacement." He's a 19 year old who only started 7 league games for us. Very happy for us to sign a good midfielder, but funny how Pardew justifies the signing as if we have lost an essential player who we must replace!

they often say we had similar crowds last year when we were struggling - just not true. Lowest we got, in any competition was 11,331 - for a midweek league cup game, against a CCC team we had played at home only ten days earlier and lost.

It always seems so effective when teams do that, like BO did for us, and Tevez showed in a masterclass this week (bet its not often he has been compared to Tevez!)

it was 1 in 3 games before BO joined us. Not as prolific as Barnard, 1 in 2. As comparison was about whether he will be a similar player for us as BO - I would hope he stuffs the 1 in 9 that BO got for us. so not so way off the mark thanks!

Barnard scored a goal every two games at this level for last two years. A very good rate. Ormerod was something like a goal in every ten games.

Skates tranfers today; Williamson, bought in summer for £2m sold today to Newcastle for £900k - without making his debut. Paris Cowan Hall who was on loan to Grimsby has been returned to Portsmouth as he has glandular fever - another wage to find!
