  1. yes I am sure you could.
  2. genuine question - why do bookies, not known for throwing money way or being emotional, think there are 9 teams more likely to be relegated as I saw on one major site at weekend?
  3. you do realise how many games there are in a season?
  4. rubbish, if Man U lost their first two games they would hardly be in relegation battle. Taking it to extreme but proves you are wrong. Nor are Everton at the moment.
  5. happy to judge Pardew at anytime. At the moment I think he has improved the team, squad and back room. These are the basic. I am happy with him. I hope, and am confident, that these will improve results. I will enjoy watching our form over next few weeks and judge Pardew accordingly. I was frustrated after the last home game but am, once again, looking forward to the next. I don't know how well we will do this season but we are heading in the right direction. There is no way we will be near a relegation battle so why worry about it.
  6. don't think they can afford to pay Hart off!
  7. love your first line!
  8. the concept seems bit complicated for some! our season hasn't got off the ground yet, just like Sunderlands didn't until Keane came in etc. Our season starts proper when we are in a position to compete to the level we will do for the rest of the season. In my opinion that is now. Graeme Taylor said never judge any team until 8 games in - our circumstances are such that that is even more the case,
  9. I didn't expect a good performance or any points from Charlton so was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting the season to start for us, and some real progress from next week. The coaching staff are now in place, it is very much Pardew's team, two new signings just in, Holmes/Mills fit. I am not looking at the league table until after Christmas for two reasons; 1) the -10, those points don't need to be caught up in few weeks but over the season 2) our disrupted start to the season. I am going to follow this; http://www.4thegame.com/statistics/league-one/tables/currentform.html if we get up quickly, and remain, in play off positions in current form we will be doing ok.
  10. don't see the relevance of %'s - unless clubs are filling their grounds
  11. Skates and Newcastle drop more when they do bady. Enjoy a positive.
  12. and skates get 17,000 when they give 1,000 away and do kids for £1 - in premiership
  13. yes - apologies for not replying. Thanks appreciate it (but not at it again are you!?)
  14. THanks for that - came on looking to see about the game only to find a load of old woman bickering about relegation and failing to hold onto a lead. Thanks for the report.
  15. So far we have had 20,100 v Millwall - still in summer holidays, 12.30 kick off and on sky. 11,000 v Northampton in cup -lower league, midweek 19,200 v Brentford 12,000 v Bham - mideweek cup 17,000 v Colchester For a team with hardly any home wins in last two years I think that is pretty impressive support - for a league 1 side. In premiership this year average so far for Wigan -17,000 Skates - 17,000 Bham - 20,000 Burnley - 20,000 Fulham - 25,000 Hull 23,000 And if you look at this from skate OS - day before prem game against one of their rivals - http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/?qs_media=html&cms_id=109 they have given away 1,000 tickets kids for £1 and still have more than 3,000 tickets left in their ground of 20,000. I am pretty proud of our support.

    Lallana

    improved, but not yet

    Lallana

reminds me of Joe Cole -but not at hard working. Joe was v talented but not quite sure where he would fit into a team - increased his workrate and came top midfield player
  18. so would I - if Holmes is ready. although it is picking Papa over Lallana without having seen him!
  19. Very sad but just gone through this to see the most popular team. looking at each position to see who get the most votes for that position (rather than using the 11 players with most votes) the team is back 5 - all agreed. midfield - Papa Hammond Schniederlin Mills forwards - Saga and Lambert. Interesting bits for me; no place for Lallana - had votes in several differnet positions. AP is big fan and sure will want to use him but where? Everyone agreed on Kelvin - no surprise Thomas Harding / Jaidi / Trottman / Hammond and Harding - all AP signings (and sure Murty would have been as well.
  20. Lawrie Mc Dave Bassett - Leicester's promotion year works at Aberdeen and Rangers Chelsea are not doing too bad with one (Arnesen) West Ham currently have one Reading have one -since 2003 -about when they imrpoved! Bristol Rovers - Lennie Lawrence Stoke - since 1999 - was that when they improved? David Dein has described his role at Arsenal as DoF It can/does work, depends on circumstances and personalities. Very easy to write it off without really understanding the roles.
  21. explains it!
  22. dropping Saga from first 11 to not even on bench?
  23. agree, but happy we had a lot to sort out and still heading in right direction
  24. don't think it sucking eggs - its correcting the numerous things you got wrong hth
  25. now clearances are thro?
