  1. don't think anyone is saying he doesn't deserve credit, I think he has done great! The thread was about young players -and we still are using a lot more, and ones that didn't previously have much of a chance - Lallana, DMG, Gillett and James
  2. New dutch CB making us more solid. Saga returning offering class, workrate and confidence. Gillet returning to form. The team seeming more confident and more of an organised unit.
  3. there's a lot in what you say. We had games that we started playing nice football but when we didn't score you could see the confidence slip away infront of your eyes
  4. I know you enjoy your arguements but you are creating one that isn't there! I am not saying things haven't changed, clearly they have. But we did use Stern John and Svensson at the start of the season. There are many things that have been kept. He isn't playing 4-4-2 either.
  5. we only need a handful - Norwich and Blackpool are going down!
  6. or Keegan, or Fergie, or Lawrie, or Sven - none of them riddled with self doubt!
  7. Yes I have. Wotte has changed a lot. How would you define the Dutch experiment that is talked about on here?
  8. young side -in the past some quite old and high earners have been regulars in reserves
  9. Bit light hearted as I would be saying its too soon to judge if we were doing crap under Wotte, but judging on how he is doing today... When Jan left a lot, me included thought Wotte was likely to be the manager but would have preferred one of the variuos names linked - someone like Dowie, or Adams was also mentioned. Not after another NP v Wotte thread, as thats elsewhere, but gut feeling - would you swap Wotte for the names linked on here as available, English and possibles? On the current high of 3 wins I wouldn't.
  10. Not quite, relegation would be a disaster, but considering how adrift we were when he came in, he could be a lot more "successful" than NP for instance and we still get relegated. More judge him on performances, team spirit and the turn around - still early days but can't fault him yet.
  11. what exactly was this dutch experiment? If you mean Jan -then yes it did. But we are improving with Dutch manager, dutch CB he signed, playing quick passing football, attacking midfielders as fullbacks, and much of the team from youth ranks who didn't get a look in last year!!
  12. Lallana - doubt he would have gone from hardly being considered as sub to first 11. Fact is he is. And would we have spent 1.2M on teenager?
  13. got a feeling, that Norwich, Charlton and Blackpool will be adrift soon and less points will be needed. http://www.4thegame.com/statistics/championship/tables/currentform.html http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/table/default.stm
  14. Think your post on one of the others is fair - all fans can do is give any player or manager (or even chairman) a chance, that was why I was p1ssed of with a few a couple of weeks ago writing off and becoming hysterical about Wotte (didn't think he would start this well tho)
  15. think he means he wants lowe here permanently!
  16. do you think we will drop another point this season then?
  17. edit re-read it now.
  18. I don't care if we win dirty boring football to stay up but its nice to see others still seeing that we continue to play quality passing and moving football with young players - but with more success with a confident manager
  19. Last season we would not have used Lallana, Gillett, DMG, James, and Schneiderlin as first 11 players. All are young or products of acedemy. They have replaced Wright, Idiakez, Safri, Viafara, Rasiak etc. We are more reliant on these players still.
  20. does that mean you are not writing him off anymore and think he may do ok?
  21. Are those figures right? I know NP had some draws and bad defeats but thought it was better return than that?? If so makes 11 points from 7, from a team deep in relegation zone rather than lower midtable look pretty good. Not sure if its elsewhere but bit in sun on his advice to players today.
  22. Norwich, Charlton, Blackpool and Barnsley would be looking at this current form and getting worried current form http://www.4thegame.com/statistics/championship/tables/currentform.html league table http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_1/table/default.stm
  23. opinions but think you are hugely overreacting to well meaning comment. If we beat Birmingham (maybe unlikely but didn't think we would all these three) wouldn't be surprised if most fans are cheering him.
