  1. Don't think Chelsea will want Cork back
  2. scored for reserves
  3. nothing wrong with hoping - relying on is different. why shouldn't people on here think he had a chance when he and the Drs thought he did?
  4. yep we are considerably higher than them! my gut feeling is that it will turn out to be a better appointment, jury still out on both of them, but to compare a team that scraped through a relegation battle last year then got rid of all of its players to one that is the richest and promotion favorite in a lower division is not a fair comparison
  5. my date was from Bristol City and Cardiff official sites so hopefully they have it right. Always thought it was December
  6. or does it!
  7. oh ok its The draw takes place around 2:15pm, Sunday November 30th. but google does know everything!
  8. put "3rd round draw" into google and you can see the date on first page of results
  9. perhaps we should have a week when the following are banned; mention of any board member past or present, directly or indirectly mention of clubs accounts administration takeover past managers unless there is official notification of any news! and we can talk about players, results and tactics -i.e football!
  10. thank you - I was going to challenge him to add to his list!
  11. I am not in denial, and do expect the worst in this window, but remember how they were all definately going according to this forum in the summer -and definately no-one of any standard would come in - and one of those that came in (a terrible, lightweight Lowe signing) Schneiderlin is one that we will definately cash in on! I will wait and see
  12. the only alternative who has thrown his hat in the ring is Crouch. It will be his turn again soon!
  13. I nearly started another thread the other day about the current economic climate and how it maybe to our advantage (but decided I would be insulted again for looking for positives!) What I was thinking is that we have no money so thats not going to change -but at least if other clubs suddenly find it tight it might even it out, and there would be less throwing money around.
  14. I can't argue with much (maybe any) of that. I don't seek to label you, or anyone else -didn't bother reading posts where fan/supporter was being debated. I fully understand your life balance comments, I no longer go to pub before games or travel to away games as I wanted to spend more time with my family. I do post on here a lot, not out of obsession but due to spending some days working from home on laptop and poor concentration levels! The bit I don't get, and you don't have to justify it to me, was why Lowe changed your mind about sending the form in? Who sits there balancing the books isn't important enough to change my mind either way.
  15. boycott has few problems; Most would not support it so would not have any effect what exactly are people protesting about if people resigned who would replace them, surely not another merry-go-round? if there was a mass boycott would that cause less sympathy from the bank and more financial problems?
  16. perhaps blindfold the player and drive up to fleet services and back - with the crowd level it could be away!
  17. yes, the same as every other club outside of the top 4 -get used to it, its the way of the world not Lowe!
  18. there are quite a lot of realistic balanced posters on here recently who look beyond personalities and personal dislike
  19. and the reason I went. Disappointed with result. First half saw some really good football, good movement and energy. Team applauded off by the crowd appreciating effort and quality football at half time. Ran out of ideas in 2nd half, and it became frustrating. Good to see these young players - particularly if they are going to move on. Sure if results continue at home, and lack of goals etc it will get more and more frustrating but glad I went.
  20. would use Holmes ahead of BWP on left, although he surpised me for first 45 yesterday as thought he was excellent with great energy and movement.
  21. have you been wearing the skatebuster t-shirt for 4 years? if so think category is smelly!
  22. agree
  23. how about trying (infront of defence above) Schneiderlin Cork Lallana BWP Surman Patterson Quite solid defensive pair who can both accelerate out of the back. Decent tricky wide players. Surman in free role. centre forward is harder, but Patterson seems to get good reviews and certainly worked hard physically when he came on, whether he is up to a start who knows.
  24. sporting life Paul Sturrock claimed his Plymouth side were too complacent against Southampton and has demanded more from them in the future. Sturrock watched in dismay as a struggling Saints side outplayed his play-off chasing team in a 0-0 draw at St Mary's. Sturrock said: "I think we were too complacent tonight and at least 30% below par in the first half. "I had to have strong words with my players at the break and at least they came out after half-time and competed, because they certainly weren't doing that in the first half. "We were second to every ball in the first 45 minutes and it just wasn't good enough. "I expect better of my players because they have been performing well recently but they let themselves down tonight. "Overall I think a draw was a fair result but we came into this game expecting to win and maybe the players thought the three points would be easy, but football is rarely like that." Southampton's top scorer David McGoldrick missed the best chance of the game just after the break. McGoldrick, who has scored five league goals this term, was sent clean through by a lovely ball from Adam Lallana. He rounded Plymouth goalkeeper Romain Larrieu before shooting but left-back Chris Barker did well to clear off the line. Plymouth were toothless until top scorer Paul Gallagher came off the bench 11 minutes into the second half. The striker, who is on loan from Blackburn, made an immediate impression when he fired just over the bar from 20 yards with his first touch. Veteran defender Chris Perry went close to breaking the deadlock three minutes before the break when he headed Andrew Surman's corner onto the post. Southampton boss Jan Poortvliet was disappointed with the way his side tried to walk the ball into the back of the net instead of shooting. He said: "I think the players were tired after playing two games in four days and the 2-1 victory at Reading took a lot out of them, but that is no excuse for trying to walk the ball into the back of the net. "They are young but they must learn how to take opportunities when they are presented to them. "I thought we were the better side and we created a lot of problems for Plymouth but we did not take our opportunities when they came to us."
