it was me who checked the hard copy at someone's request last night. The pic is back page of echo and 1) it is definately two pics put together -if you look at JPs shoulder it is totally different type of pic to Lowe. 2) The echo's wording doesn't actually say them together it could just as easily be talking about two pics 3) does show or say if was in dug out

good to hear -hope you enjoy it. I am now starting to look forward to it.

absurd comparison - the top player in the country playing for us in the permiership was better then a cheap 19 year old playing to a lower half CCC side - shock! I am not sure about JP and how well he will eventually be remembered but I think its fair to say if we could afford MLT he would play him over DMG

no still go for the simple explanation -premiership is getting to be a distant memory so fans keep declining, and therefore less season ticket holders so lower base line of attendees. Also last year we had the positive hangover of the play off season , this year the negative one from last seasons rubbish. and then this seasons results. If we win the crowds will come back - may not win with Lowe -but if we do the crowds will be back whoever is in charge.

don't need economics - winning teams -big crowds premiership football - big crowds longer we stay away from permiership and lower form is fans stop going

how do you think he would be remembered if he had been sandwiched between Chris Nichol, Lawrie Mc, Hoddle or WGS? He's bit like James Dean died before he got fat and old! -left us wondering what if....

NP did have some of those players at his disposal tho. Lets face it none of them have been great and we all have things we like about them/dislike. I wanted NP to stay and think he did pretty well, not a legend but instilled some grit when needed. I was looking forward to seeing what he could do with a full season. St Marco -one thing with your analysis, not disputing stats at all, but the time directly before he came was a decent team that had completely lost its shape and confidence. He should be applauded for turning that around -which he did quickly and effectively. However, it is a bit misleading to show the dramatic increase in form -as the decrease had been just as dramatic. What I am trying to say is that he had a half decent team that only a few week before were playing at the level he achieved. Anyway he is gone now and don't think there really have been any hypocrites over it.

I was sick off him on tv last time and embarassed by how he came across -but have to say struggling to remember him on radio or tv this season once.

I don't doubt the caption, but the photo is not of them together -look at the edge of JPs shoulder -that is an edge of a sharp image, over laid against an softer lit/focussed image of Lowe. I guess the echo mean, "LOOKING CONCERNED: JP before Saturday's game at Swansea, with (a picture of) Rupert Lowe next to him". -unless they want to mislead us! all IMHO -not a photo expert but that is quite clearly two images. Maybe they were together but not as shown in pic. Also says before game, doesn't say or show a dug out.

never got to the bottom of what happened to scooby? my laptop died for a couploe of weeks and when I came back he had gone! what was posted that made him go away?

how many interviews have you seen with him since he came back? also where is the evidence of the him having more input with team affairs than other chairman? Sorry longshot -this is one of the "devils advocate" posts that gets me labelled, incorrectly, a lowe luvvie - just cos I hate criticism of anyone if it cannot be backed up!

my post wasn't very well written sorry. Had another look at the echo, if they are stirring about back page pic that is pretty desparate! Clearly photos taken on different occassions just pasted next to each other for page lay out.

the back page is two large pictures -looks like separate ones just next to each other on the page -this could be what they are referring to, but it looks like just showing their faces to illustrate the piece with pics taken on different occassions. inside the sport bit there is another pic of them looks like walking and talking and says before the game. No pic of them together in dug out

not convinced many will return if Lowe went -unless there was an additional input of positive news -a winning streak, new signing, new manager. Equally, if results improved I think crowds would still return to a reasonable level even with Lowe, and if (god knows how) we got back to premiership with Lowe as chairman we would sell out.
