  1. Keeping the mods busy again chaps I see.
  2. Any sadder than jumping on the Jamie bandwagon? Kinda agree though.
  3. Don't personally have a problem with red but gotta say this looks like a cheap and nasty template design. Oh and the gold is horrendous. I guess my kids will be waiting another year before their next Saints shirt.
  4. Most of the previous posters have hit the nail on the head. It's a long season and with the way Pochettino likes his team to play I'd imagine everyone will get plenty of game time. We need competition for places and we need the level of whoever's on the bench to match that of those on the pitch.
  5. And breathe.
  6. Christ! That's the run-in from hell! Better hope they're well clear by April.
  7. Sorry thought there were two other than us. However it is a small aspect of the point I was trying to make so no need to get all MLG on my ass.
  8. That's just grasping at straws. It's either striped or it ain't. If NC and ML hadn't rescued us from going out of existence, all we would have had would have been our history, no future. Some great players and managers and some superb results, but hardly the most illustrious to look back on. If NC and ML planned to change the strip to all red, maybe to be more Swiss, I wouldn't complain. If that's the price for everything that's happened since they took over it's fine with me. It's not like a completely different colour, like Cardiff. However, what does **** me off is the fact that it's just sprung on us. At least Cardiff's new owners had the decency to let the fans know what was coming.
  9. I accept that we have played in stripes for most of our history but some of our past kits could only ever have been loosely termed so. Many people on here love the Xerox/Air Florida kit. You could argue that it was stripes but at some point a stripe becomes so wide it ain't a stripe no more. I wonder if it's the period in our history that is attached with it that makes it such a favourite? If this place had existed back then for that kit's launch I can easily imagine the history brigade being up in arms at how it just isn't isn't proper stripes!
  10. Yeah, stick your head in the sand. Some of you who are hung up on the whole stripes issue do talk some tosh. I know you're passionate about it but, irrespective of the badge and sponsor, we do look like Stoke, Sunderland, Exeter and any number of other teams that wear the same or similar colours. A fact exacerbated when Flybe thought it would be great to sponsor a load of teams with red and white stripes. If you want to save stripes go for it, but don't let your passion cloud your judgement. I'm obviously not as hung up on stripes as many on here, I'd like something more individual, it's why I liked the sash so much. However, last season we looked like Liverpool/Forest so that isn't working either is it? And no I don't have a solution off the top of my head. Another thing that's important to me is quality, unfortunately the mock-up above looks like just another generic template design.
  11. You remind me of the Action Man I had as a kid. Pull the string on his back and he'd repeat one of six recorded statements. Do you have the little lever on the back of your head that makes your eyes move from side to side?
  12. Don't think anybody was suggesting that for one minute Bazza. Still, don't let that get in the way of having a good moan eh?
  13. I can't quite work out if this is supposed to be ironic or just is.
  14. I'd rather spend it on a new house.
  15. I kinda know where you're coming from, but anyone that came on this thread without being at least 50% sure it was going to be a youth signing is being a bit thick.
  16. Hopefully it's some sort of administrative error and once someone at the club looks into your issue it'll all get sorted. Otherwise it's a bloody disgrace.
  17. Sorry, did you say something? Nodded off there for a moment.
  18. I'm too young to know about John McGrath but the OP said most thuggy. I'd say while Case was a hard man (as well as a very cultured footballer) he was hardly a thug. On the other hand Ruddock just oozed thug to me as did Dennis.
  19. TBH I think Lambert fits the mould better than Defoe. These days a forward has to be more than just a goal scorer. Lambert's far superior team play should see him in there. The one time Defoe got decent possession tonight he chose to run at the defence rather than play a through ball to Walcott. When he finally played it out to him it was inaccurate and Walcott did well to gather it and get a shot away. Unfortunately as well as his age Roy seems to think that Lambert's the same kind of player as Holt. As much as Holt had a good first season in the Prem, Lambert's a far better player with more strings to his bow.
  20. No worries. Didn't want to look stupid so double checked it on Google maps first.
