Start the same back 4 every game you can and Downes in front. If Downes out then play Charles.

Yep it was and other than Bristol away when Charles was taken off at 0/0 and he played vs West Brom clean sheet then was dropped so no number 6 infront of them.

I’ve really liked Martin and was happy to support him but shoehorning Stephens into the team has ruined our season. Madness and to leave our best player out yesterday for him and then the problems come down the right and then saying that wasn’t reason we lost has done me. Shea Charles is our only other number 6 so to see him left out vs hull and Millwall was awful too.

I’ve watched Stephens play for years for saints. Managers love his attitude at the start. He looks good on ball etc but we always concede goals when he plays. By the end managers don’t rate him. Charles wasn’t bad at all our best player I thought.

Sorry mate, Martin got it wrong in last 3 losses but not tonight. We didn’t play our best team rightly and he actually did the right thing and played Charles as the 6.

I don’t think Leeds will win every game but I do think it’s likely they will get enough to get automatic based on their form and us having Brom, Leicester, Ipswich and Leeds away.

You say that but there is no room for a result like that with West Brom, Leicester, Ipswich and Leeds away and Leeds form at the moment. Leeds beat Leicester away and stuffed Ipswich at home and have r hit form. I think it’s tough to make a case for anything other than play offs and also I know the points would usually have you up nearly already but we are where we r should be in terms of the squad we have.

I can’t stand his views and my opinion of him has changed. However, he’s definitely the best saints player ever in my eyes.
