  1. I think they're right with the "former parent company" bit, Chainrai basically repossessed the football club from CSI so he now owns it again.
  2. In the league, 8 starts and 7 sub appearances. Also 2 starts in the Carling Cup.
  3. Should point out that DSM's name is not Mike McCarthy. Any link with a Mike McCarthy posting under a similar/identical username on another forum is entirely coincidental.
  4. Except there's one fundamental difference between us and you - we have saleable assets. If we were in a situation where we *had* to sell players - which we're certainly not - there would be plenty of interest. On a slightly unrelated note, in the past I've been very cynical about any Pompey fans bleating on about how the situation they find themselves in is all the fault of the Premier League/Football League for letting these people in, while the likes of Mandaric was more than happy to flog the club for a profit and they lapped it all up at the time despite countless warnings of what was likely to happen. However, on this occasion I've a modicum of sympathy for the view that the Football League could have done more. As Ho has said on most of his three daily posts for the last year, every deal is scrutinised by the Football League, and they were the ones who approved the club's business plan which relied upon CSI pumping in yet more money of dubious origin. They could easily have said "no, you will work to a business plan that doesn't involve cash injections from external sources", and Pompey would have had to comply.
  5. Bristol City and Leicester both did the double over us by pressing us particularly high up the pitch, which strangled us and forced us to rush our play and as a result make lots of mistakes. Most clubs in this division don't play that way (I'd argue both of those sides don't normally play that way either but adapted their tactics specifically against us), and don't have the players capable of playing that way.
  6. Considering you were on here insisting that Chainrai had paid the tax bill (link), I'll take the option of disregarding anything you say on the matter. You clearly know the square root of **** all.
  7. It is, yes
  8. When was that?
  9. A good point well made.
  10. Unlikely, it's an FA requirement that a programme is produced.
  11. Sounds rather like third-party interference to me...
  12. I'm intrigued how Portsmouth North appears to have two MPs
  13. That one game will be voided, but all remaining games in your accumulator will still count, with revised combined odds.
  14. All of Pompey's buses will be provided by Lucketts, apparently. Or at least Lucketts will be the main contractor and might subcontract for extra vehicles if they need them.
  15. I'm led to believe that, despite all the logic that suggests otherwise, Lampitt was NOT parachuted in by the FA to keep an eye on things. He genuinely saw it as a career opportunity down there, with a massive pay-rise to boot.
  16. *whoosh* Observe... http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/8538829.stm
  17. You're 'avin' a larf, mush!
  18. https://twitter.com/#!/SneakyFC/status/165386999199580160 Turns out the CSI investment into PFC is actually £17.2m, not the £10.8m previously stated...
  19. Apparently Stephen Henderson and Joel Ward wanted Ipswich to triple their Pompey pay in order to move there, so Ipswich walked away. The bean-counters at Portman Road have missed a trick there, as anyone with half a brain knows that 3 x £0 = £0
  20. Where did you hear that? The voices in your head? If we wanted to get rid of an individual, we'd do so, it's no big deal.
  21. For the record, this issue had nothing to do with the change in admins/moderators. Not my business to intervene, it's a private matter between Jill and DSM.
  22. I'm also struggling to remember Beckham ever scoring a hat-trick. Edit: oh, and Beckham left Man United in the summer of 2003. Remind me, when did Pompey get promoted?
  23. It's a bit "Setanta" with all that yellow, but I like some of the functionality they've brought in, especially having live scores from a variety of European leagues as well as UK ones.
  24. So Venables (banned from serving as a director for 7 years in 1998 for "bribery, lying, deception, manipulation of accounts and taking money that should have been given to creditors") and Mandaric (currently in court on tax evasion charges, in case you hadn't noticed) weren't dodgy?
  25. It's because "emergency" loans are allowed outside the window, but loans between clubs in different countries are actually conducted as permanent transfers, with the player's registration being held by the loaning club, but a legally binding agreement being written that obliges the loaning club to return the registration to the parent club at the end of the loan period. As a result, because we already held his registration, all we effectively did was extend his contract from 3 months to (I assume - can't be bothered to look it up again) 3 years, paying Celtic whatever fee it was to cancel the "return his registration to us" contract. Massive loophole there, and only available to us because the Football League allows loans outside the transfer windows. A Premier League club wouldn't have been able to do it.
