  1. Au contraire, Cortese had a 3-hour meeting with the Sun's sports editor (as reported on here at the time) where everything was smoothed over.
  2. And now Bournemouth, having realised that a club of their size can't move forward anymore without being forced to sell their entire first team for peanuts every year, are following Pompey's lead by taking some dodgy Russian's money. It will end in tears for them as well.
  3. Funny how impressions often don't reflect the actual reality - a few numbers for the last month compared with the same 31-day period a year ago: Site Visits: up 31.4% Unique Visits: up 66.8% Page Views: up 22.8% Number of Posts: up 20.5% All in all, the site's doing pretty well compared to a year ago, I would say. At this stage, there are no plans to change the moderators.
  4. And he was still hopeless, which probably says more about how appalling the rest of them were on Monday night.
  5. I find the deals you can get with the big search sites vary quite significantly. Sometimes there's simply nothing of any worth available, but other times you'll get a gem - I managed to get a triple room in a 4* hotel in Karlsruhe last Friday for £50, when the normal rate for the same room is €115.
  6. It depends... I think that if HMRC were to apply for the court to place the club in administration, they would have some sort of input, but if the club went into admin voluntarily, they would get to choose. HMRC could challenge any appointment, so I can't imagine there's much chance they'd allow AA to perform that role again.
  7. What kind of self-respecting journalist names one of the jurors during a trial, FFS?
  8. Whether it was in his contract or not (I suspect not), the answer to that is definitely "yes".
  9. I reckon that article might be from 2009
  10. Seems to be on all news sites now (or at least those I'm following on Twitter).
  11. Yes, the list above is only provisional. I think the numbers on that list give me enough confidence to confirm that we'll be able to take a team up there for the game, so I now need everyone on the list to confirm that they are available.
  12. Unless of course the main reason you had become hugely wealthy was because you'd been evading tax and taking bungs for a much longer period of time... Redknapp has owned his house at Sandbanks for years, dating back to the time he was at West Ham, where he wouldn't have been paid that much - certainly nowhere near the amount he now earns at Spurs or got at Pompey - and I struggle to believe that at that time he earned enough money to afford to buy property in that part of the world without "alternative" sources of income.
  13. That date's just a placeholder date before the actual date is finalised. All the Youth Cup games are played midweek, so I'd expect it to be at some point during the following week.
  14. Current provisional squad: Steve Grant Stu Holloway Julian Ganley Asa Leathem Chris Summers Dan Armstrong Kevin Sim Jordan Florit (+ friend?) Ben Coombes Andy Mintram Andy Porter Some on that list are less reliable than others (you know who you are ), so we could still do with a few more players.
  15. What position(s) do you play?
  16. Full Fifth Round Draw: Swansea v Man United Man City v Fulham Blackburn v Stoke City Charlton v Tottenham Reading v Burnley Chelsea v West Ham Newcastle v QPR Southampton v Nott'm Forest
  17. I'm going to manually add the predictions above before adding the points, I just haven't got round to doing it yet
  18. Don't want to peak too soon, tbf. You'd have to fancy Senegal, with their strikeforce of Demba Ba and Papíss Cissé.
  19. In terms of the supermarket I use, I shop for convenience. When I lived in Southampton, I'd drive to Tesco in Millbrook as it wasn't too much of a pain in the arse to get to, and in general I felt it offered the best value for money at the time. Since I've moved to Croydon, the nearest Tesco is 3-4 miles away, and if there's ever any traffic around it can take me 45-60 minutes just to get home again afterwards. There is a big Sainsburys pretty much next door to my flat, so I started shopping there instead. Some things are more expensive, but on the whole there's not that much of a difference really. I'll happily pay a few quid more if it means not being sat in traffic for an hour just to do my weekly shop.
  20. To be fair, on this occasion they haven't been required to, as the company was only formed in May 2010, which would mean the first year's accounts weren't due to be filed until the end of February this year.
  21. I love their bare-faced cheek in taking a not-too-subtle "matter-of-fact" tone there. I'm intrigued as to how PFCTV owes the football club money, though, considering the service is being provided by PFCTV to the football club
  22. Fair to say this has long since run its course
  23. Didn't you start a thread saying basically the same thing yesterday? Oh yes, two posts down from this one
