I wouldn't, they can keep their sectarian bull**** to themselves, thanks. -
Well played for the Stewart Lee/Richard Herring reference though

We've been invited for a return game against Watford's fans' team before our away game up there on 25th February. It's likely to be a 10.30 or 11.00 kick-off in (or near) Watford... if you're interested in playing, please let me know asap.

I think they only took 8 to Wrexham either this season or last

Cost to taxpayer of Queen's yacht proposed by Education Secretary Michael Gove: £60m Cut to school sports budget the year before the Olympics implemented by Education Secretary Michael Gove: £85m

Having had the benefit of the live stream and a number of replays for the red card, I think it was a bit harsh and wouldn't be surprised if Forest appeal against it. That said, regardless of that decision going our way, we were comfortably the better side.

Sure about that?

Fixed in the nick of time, turns out the timezone on the server was set to Hong Kong, so everything was about 10 hours out

He had a fixed and floating charge on basically everything when he owned the club, not sure what the situation is now he's not the owner. While I can see the appeal of waiting to see if another mug does come in and take over the debts, and therefore pumping another load of money in to keep things ticking over, surely there comes a time where Chainrai has to think "**** this"? PS I'll have a bit of a tidy of the last few pages this evening, there's a load of stuff that's really not relevant to the thread (mostly my fault, admittedly).

Stoneham Lane, which I assume means Pompey's training ground, opposite Eastleigh FC.

Ernie.

As some of you may have noticed, I have had to delete a number of posts on this thread, for pretty bloody obvious reasons. While I'm sure it seemed like a good idea at the time, I'll let you all consider the ramifications for that person given the role he currently has - I don't think it's particularly fair on him, given he's simply trying to do a job. I'll say no more on the subject

Not really. Lowe wasn't the problem, despite what the loudest voices on here might claim. And we've not done too badly out of our spell in administration, to be honest.

Tonight's results: QPR 1-0 Everton Stoke 2-1 Brentford (AET) Peterborough 1-5 Fulham Updated Fifth Round Draw Portsmouth/Swansea v Man United/Derby Swindon/Man City v Fulham Blackburn/Coventry v Stoke City Charlton/Leicester v Tottenham Reading/West Brom v Burnley/Ipswich Chelsea v West Ham Newcastle/Watford v QPR Southampton v Nott'm Forest/Wigan

You would have thought that after all these years, Colin Farmery would have learned his lesson by now
-
So an embargo then
-
I wouldn't say that QPR and Swansea are necessarily not in the PL Academy structure for financial reasons. They might not have the required infrastructure or even the desire to invest the required funds on an annual basis. I don't think QPR have brought a player through their youth system for years - expect they felt it wasn't worthwhile when Chelsea and Fulham could just poach anyone with any talent. Fulham are particularly bad for it. Alternatively, they might even feel that their system is good enough as it is without needing the Premier League's approval. As for Pompey maintaining their PL Academy status, to be honest I have absolutely no problem in them investing in their youth system as it's probably the only way they've got a fighting chance of becoming a self-sustainable club. If only they were to get rid of their £20k-a-week players from the first team...

I genuinely wouldn't know where to start On a continuing note: "@solentsport #pompey Attempts to bring back West Brom's Joe Mattock for a 2nd spell on hold. Baggies have a number of injuries at the moment" - yes, West Brom do have some injuries right now, but none of them appear to be at left-back Incognito transfer embargo, anyone?
-
Difficult to really tell with the way the academy league structure is split - for example, Bolton are rock bottom of their division yet seemed to give us a tough game last night - but here's the remaining teams and their league positions, 10 teams in each group (group in brackets): Coventry (B) 1st Newcastle (D) 1st Man City © 1st Fulham (A) 2nd Reading (B) 2nd Saints - (A) 3rd Leicester (B) 3rd Derby (D) 3rd Tottenham (B) 4th Blackburn © 4th Charlton (A) 5th Everton © 5th West Ham (A) 6th Watford (B) 6th Stoke © 6th Chelsea (A) 7th Man United © 7th West Brom © 8th Ipswich (A) 9th Portsmouth (A) 10th Nottingham Forest (D) 10th Swansea - not in PL Academy structure Swindon - not in PL Academy structure Peterborough - not in PL Academy structure Brentford - not in PL Academy structure Burnley - not in PL Academy structure QPR - not in PL Academy structure Wigan - not in PL Academy structure So of the sides who have been strong in the league this season, Arsenal (leaders in Group A), Wolves and Barnsley (2nd in Groups C and D respectively) and Liverpool and Derby (3rd in Groups C and D respectively) have all been eliminated already.

While for most clubs that scenario would be vaguely plausible, it still doesn't answer the question as to why any "genuine" owner would buy PFC in its current state. It literally has *nothing* going for it, no assets, a stack of debts that require paying over the next 3-4 years and a huge wage bill with players on medium-to-long-term contracts.
-
Other results from tonight: Cardiff 1-2 Spurs Norwich 0-0 Chelsea (Chelsea win 4-2 on penalties) West Ham 4-1 Brighton Chelsea will host West Ham in the next round, while Spurs travel to Charlton or Leicester.

I genuinely can't believe they let some of those comments through
