  1. Surely Pahars has to make any team and much as I like Lambert it is really no contest between him and Pahars. Otherwise fair enough, Crouch/Beattie is a marginal call I'd say but either on the bench would be nice Surman's a good shout too, miles ahead of Viafara.
  2. Two more for later on in the day/evening: Goodwood 5.20 Golden Aria Available at 15/2 (Victor Chandler) This may not be the biggest field of the day but it is one of the most competitive with 7 of the ten runners winning last time out and 9 of the 10 holding decent chances of winning this race. Richard Hughes rides Mirabella for Richard Hannon but it may be worth chancing stable mate, Golden Aria, for whom Pat Dobbs has been on board for her last two outings. Her best performance came when last seen in September when she was stepped up to a mile for the first time to beat Timepiece (making her debut). Both the second and third (Gertrude Bell) have done nothing but improve since and it could be a similar story for Golden Aria in this campaign. Fitness is unlikely to be a concern and, if she has wintered well, an initial mark of 80 for this handicap debut could underestimate her. Ffos Las 8.35 Quiquillo - Available at 6/1 (General) Not many of these are open to obvious improvement but the exception could be Quiquillo who makes just her ninth start this evening and is unexposed over sprint trips. It's difficult to gauge just what her best trip is, having been seen over 6-10 furlongs so far, but her two best performances have come at today's trip, including a win from a mark of 62 at Chepstow in August. Her fitness has to be taken on trust but the stable's horses are running well and their inmate is not weighted out of this on a six pound higher mark than for that sole victory. Limited evidence suggests the selection may not want the ground riding too fast but, even without Amosite running, there looks enough early pace to make this an honest run affair which will suit.
  3. I like your optimism,.......... but you had better be right !!!
  4. We'll see, the others need to now get their acts together and we bat down to 9 with Cork in the side. 300 or so should set up an interesting game. 51/1 is off 11 overs only so a more than useful start even with Carbs out.
  5. Much better than I expected, Corky finishing with 4-39! Now time for the batsman besides Carbs to do the businesss, bat well and we COULD still win this but probably won't
  6. Now that's more like it One of my favourite albums too.
  7. Doesn't it just as Notts cruise past 300 and still only 7 down having been 33/4 and 123/6. This is getting so predictable. Edit: Last 10 overs, 54/0

  9. Here we go for Thursday Chester As always very competitive so I'll be playing to small stakes here and at least one ew double. 2.15 South Easter/Redwood -: both currently around 7/2: South Easter Won C&D Group 3 on second racecourse start last May and back to form after a poor run at Royal Ascot when cosy listed winner on reappearance in March. Scope for more improvement and is my main pick for this though a small saver on Redwood who was only narrowly beaten last time out and is another for the Richard/Barry Hills combination. 2.45 Rocket Man NB : Connections are very keen on this horse and the current price of 5/2 suggests a big run is expected. Has a Derby Entry, Aiden O'Brien had the 1/2 in this race last year and Rocket Man looks open to plenty of improvement. Trip should not be a problem and close to be being my NAP. 3.55 Diamond Geezah : currently around 7/2 : Not drawn well in stall 9 but still looks likely to be a leading contender in this race. Has plenty of speed and I'd imagine Michael Hills will try to utilise that and head for the rail at the start, that could well be the key to winning this. The good record of Barry Hills in this race is another positive. 4.30 Horseradish- currently around 5/1 ew double with Diamond Geezah : Unlike Diamond Geezah has a good draw and should make his presence felt though am slightly concerned that the step back in trip may be a little on the sharp side. However, due to go up 3lbs on Saturday so still potentially well handicapped. Rule of Nature is the obvious threat and may prove too quick over this trip but I'm going for an ew double on Horseradish and Diamond Geezah as both look good bets to at least make the frame. Goodwood : 4.45 Commempration Day -ew :- currently around 10/1 Main concern about this horse is he has not been since on the flat since 2007. However, has won over C&D and early market vibes are positive which could well be significant. Wincanton 6.35 Barrel Of Fun - 6.35 Wincanton NAP - currently around 2/1 Started out running on the flat and looked nothing out of the ordinary on his hurdling debut but showed much improved form when running out the comfortable winner of a novices' hurdle at Plumpton last month. With McCoy on board I rate this a very strong bet and is my NAP Wetherby 8.25 Chip N Pin -: currently around 5/1 Seems a very difficult horse to win with despite being pretty consistent. I'm sure there is a win in him, wears blinkers for the 1st time today though only beaten a short head to Martha Elizabeth at Southwell a week ago having been backed from 11/2 into 7/2. An early morning check showed a best priced 7/1 but now 9/2 looks the general price though 5's available in places. I like Denis O'Regan who is on board today though I'd be reluctant to take anything shorter than 5/1 as that looks a reasonable price. Good luck all ! Chris
  10. For the young 'uns !! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Santa_Baby
  11. It is hard to spot TBH
  12. Fair enough opinion but I'd have Deano as my 1st choice CB, he was top, top quality and I was so hacked off when he returned to Spuds. Still I think he did leave us in about 2001 so not so easy to remember as most others. And yes I liked Anders as well, very skilful. Maybe not the ideal player for PL though ?
  13. I reckon saggy chops did it on purpose, told his players to concentrate on the league and not give a damn about the Cup. Bale clearly didn't listen but even he couldn't beat Poopy almost single handedly. I hope and pray Spuds lose in the 1st qualifying round and that it is so early it knackers them for the rest of the season and they finish nowhere
  14. I bet no one predicted that especially as I believe Motherwell equalled Rangers record of the most clean sheets in a season, epic fail tonight !
  15. Dean Richards should definitely be in ahead of Claus but not even a sub where you have errr Viafara for starters ?? Otherwise it's fair enough, I assume it is Anders Svensson on the bench.
  16. Thanks, I already know I'm a basket case but would rather it weren't spread around on here thanking you very much
  17. Ooh, Crouch hits the post.
  18. I think kipper has found yet another way to lose money
  19. Back up for me !
