  1. A one man batting line up pretty much !
  2. Indeed Frankie, was watching the replay and made my above post as you were writing yours Easy winner indeed ! You had a few ran well including Rio Caribe which did run a nice race and On The Cusp finished well so may indeed be more to come, one to look out for. As mentioned earlier Kanace ran well too along with my pick Celtic Ransom but we had to settle for 2nd and 3rd. Chris
  3. Yessssss, Calisto Moon wins easily at 9/4
  4. Yep, definitely a she but no Saint ! Looked very temperamental and a very hard ride.
  5. Was indeed well backed, I got the 2nd (again) with Celtic Ransom at 7/1 though at least I went ew, Kanace 3rd by a neck to Celtic Ransom at 9/2 with Flag of Glory winning well at 7/1. Decent race, both of our selections ran good races I felt. Chris
  6. Oh I missed this one, that's more like it. Excellent taste !
  7. Who are they :smt102
  8. As I said much earlier a non story but one which gives us something to talk about on a boring, back to work Tuesday, 4 pages and 190 posts or so and still going strong!
  9. Three quarters
  10. Expecting and achieving are clearly not the same thing. From your post I deduce AP cannot be a decent manager IF he didn't expect more points but how on earth do you actually know what he expected ? I expected very little from our first 6/8 games which is what we got, does that make me a bad supporter? I think the answer is clearly not, just one who looks at things optimistically but doesn't lose sight of the reality. If it is not clear already in my view anything who thinks AP should be sacked is barking mad, anyone who thinks NC has the footballing nous to decide on this is also barking mad. So in short we have a fair few people on here who are stark raving bonkers...... in my humble opinion of course
  11. Teams : Hants : Carberry, Adams, Benham , McKenzie, Vince, Pothas*† ,Ervine, Cork, Kabeer, Herath, Griffiths Notts : Edwards, Shafayat, Wagh, Amla, Patel, Brown, Read*†, Mullaney, Franks, Pattinson, Shreck Hants won toss again and chose to bat but same old story, 180/6 with Carberry not out 74 and Cork on 3. Adams made 15, Benham 9, Mckenzie( in spite of practicing until dark on Sunday) 2, Vince 39 ( played quite well but got out when well set), Pothas 6, Ervine 25. Only good thing is our bowling should be stronger with Cork and Herath playing. Meanwhile at the Oval Tremlett has taken 3-25 for Surrey !
  12. Please NO, I think that could just about be the only thing along with bringing back saggy chops that might cure my addiction to Saints.
  13. No, you missed out my coal !! Actually no you didn't, said I was confused !!!
  14. Thanks, I shall remember that, I'm sure it will come in useful one day !!
  15. Well losing at home to Watford 4-0 is just about as bad as it gets !
  16. Newcastle 2.40 Destiny's Dream : I looked at this race earlier and though it is very competitive I did fancy this horse though Sudden Impulse looked a big danger. However, with that now being a N/R at a best priced 9/2 Destiny's Dream looks a value bet. Won over this trip at Chester in August looked right back to her best when close third at Doncaster last week, and looks sure to be thereabouts if repeating that. 4.00 – Bath – Celtic Ransom – e/w. Available at 8/1 (General) Hardly set the World alight last season, but he looked a different horse last month on his seasonal debut at Wolverhampton. He will have come on for that run, and has reportedly been working well at home. 8/1 looks an excellent E/W price, and he should go close today. Have also had a very good word for Baddam in the 5.00 at Bath but not going to desert Calisto Moon. Good luck, not really inspiring again today but some good racing coming up at Chester ( live on CH4 for several races) over the next 3 days and also Ascot . Chris
  17. Indeed and yet had the game continued and reached a point where a result was possible without any more play the number of wickets taken DID affect the total needed. Does that make sense to anyone as it doesn't to me !
  18. Maybe but as I stated earlier Cortese is by no means a football expert and in that respect for him to decide who should be our manager becomes a very dubious issue and to make a change unless the present manager is not up to the job ( clearly not the case IMO) is just madness. I really don't care if Cortese is our owner, chairman, boot boy or whatever he knows less about football than most people on here without doubt and though I think he does an excellent job running the club in general he needs to seek advice from people who know the game and perhaps more importantly know the history of this club. It's been said many, many times but it is still a very valid point that who knows where this club would be if the club had not allowed LM 4 years to get us promotion back to the top flight. Patience is very sadly lacking in football these days but it's not a coincidence I believe that despite Benitez receiving a lot of stick at Anfield he is still there, the club know the importance of loyalty and continuity and even now there is more concern about Benitez leaving of his own accord rather than him being sacked. If Pardew is forced out I will assume NC and Co are not fit to run the footballing side of this club, on that point I am immovable. Pardew must stay, simple as that.
