Yes, excellent stuff Frankie Chris
-
Normal service resumed, Western Leader 2nd ! Gave it everything but really set it up for Wayward Prince.
-
Thanks Frankie, I did give it a mention and couldn't leave him thankfully at the price ! Chris
-
I got 28's but pleased with that, happy days for once. Nice stuff Cato
-
That's a result, Always' Waining at 22/1.
-
Was happy with Monet Gardens run, just ran out of steam 2-3 out.
-
1/1, well done! Nice price too.
-
Anyway Monet's Garden is the one for Frankie, Bungle and myself in the next and others cover most of the rest so one of us at least should find a winner !
-
Which is always lol
-
Flipping thing hampered Ogee as well !
-
Yep, Menorah was 1/25 in running Frankie, close again ! Though I've tipped Ogee in the next I'm quite sweet on Lenabane which is my next best. Good luck ! Cheers, Chris
-
Tomorrow morning I think, have you seen the ATR Aintree website? http://www.attheraces.com/national/index.aspx
-
What a great start ! Thought Menorah had it but General Miller ran on well. Great piece of commentary by Jim McGrath after they passed the winning post 1st time: " A lot of people in the crowd cheering, of course not realising there is another circuit to go. " Really, surely no one is THAT stupid :smt102

2.00 Menorah: Lightly raced and every reason to think will recover from Cheltenham in time for this. Conditions and track look ideal, reported to be training very well. NB La Sarrazine 2.35 Ogee: Very consistent and a previous winner at G1 over C&D. Showed a good attitude at Cheltenham and can improve on that run at Aintree where the ground should suit. NB Lenabane: Comes here fresh, an under rated horse and trip should suit. 3.10 Monets Garden : Prolific chaser, top class. Essential to catch fresh these days but remains a real threat. The sort nobody likes to take on for the lead but can be very hard to peg back if you don't. A superb, fluent jumper who comes here fresh and in top form. Another horse I think is under rated. NB Oh Crick: Alan King comes into the big race on the second day of the meeting on a hat trick and this is the time of year when the selection peaks. The gold rosette might be just a dream but so great is the place potential here that the seven-year-old deserves a punt, albeit to minimum stakes. 3.45 : Offshore Account NB Frankie Figg and at a big price ( 28/1) Always' Waining 4.20 Western Leader: Smart bumper winner, highly regarded and progressed significantly for the step up to 20f ( 2nd and 3rd both won next time out) and a reproduction of that G2 form would give him every chance. Expected to handle the step up to 3 miles, slight doubt over the ground but the yard are confident and has travelled over here well. NB Chamirey : May be outclassed here but pehaps under rated and a blistering pace could play to his stamina. 4.55: Cross Kennon NB Clova Island 5.30- as above Araucaria NB Lifestyle : Highly regarded and with a good turn of foot, expected to show improvement at a speed track in drying conditions. Higher tempo should help her settle and could well reverse form with Mizzurka in an altogether more suitable race.

Trends : 4.15 John Smith’s Grand National (Handicap Chase) – 4m 4f POSITIVE TRENDS Price: 7 of the last 10 winners have been priced 20/1 or shorter. Hence 70% of the winners have come from 28% of the runners. Winning form: All of the last 10 winners had previously won over 3 miles or further this stat holds true right back to 1970. Age: 9 and 10 yos have provided 7 of the last 10 winners (70%) from 50% of the runners. Weight: All of the last 10 winners carried 11st 1lb or less. Trainers: 5 of the last 10 winners were trained in Ireland. Breeding: 8 of the last 10 winners were Irish bred. NEGATIVE TRENDS Age: 8yo or younger have won just 1 from 92 runners. (7yos or younger are 0 from 29 and none have finished in the first four). 13yo and older runners are rare but all 13 have been soundly beaten. Price 40/1+: 1 win from 196 qualifiers. Weight: The top 9 in the weights (inc. joints) have provided just 1 winner from 98. Headgear: Horses wearing blinkers or visors have produced 1 win from 61, with 3 further finishing placed (LOSS of £53.00; ROI -86.9%). GENERAL STATS Favourites (inc. joints): 2 wins from 19 for a loss of £3.00. Finishing positions of favourites: U, F/F/BD, 3, PU, 2/F/U/PU, 1, 2/3, F/PU/R, 1/6, 7 TRENDS SUMMARY Mon Mome was a shock 100/1 winner last year but overall big priced runners should be ignored. One stat that goes back 40 years is concerned with the fact that all winners had won over 3 miles or further in their careers. Irish trainers deserve maximum respect also as they have provided 50% of the winners from less than 20% of the total runners. In terms of weight, horses carrying bigger weights (11st 2lb or more and/or top 9 in the weights) have a poor record, while in terms of age it looks best to avoid horses aged 7 or younger.

A few non Aintree fancies: Muss 2.50 Intersky Charm- a small speculative ew bet at 22/1 (VC) Looks well in at the weights. Kemp 3.00 Shoegazer- ran well enough last time out to suggest a race of this type is within his grasp, we'll see! Current best price 9/4 ( Totesport) Kemp 4.10 Preuty Boy - Stripe Me Blue been well backed so another to keep an eye on ! Wolverhampton 6.45 Five Star Junior at 8/1 ( bet 365 and VC) Wolverhampton 8.15 Buona Sarah- Tight little race but Buona Star finished strongly lto and may be the answer to the puzzle. Not overly mad about the price TBH, 7/4 best available.
-
That's more like it ! Griffiths with a "proper" wicket!
-
Worth mentioning it's an ew bet, I'm not sure if you can lay place bets but personally I would not bother and hope if he doesn't win he places so it's a winner all round! Oh and with lay betting nothing is obvious if you have never done it !

Try this ! http://www.layracingtips.co.uk/placing-lay-bets-howto.html

You forgot Kevin Pietersen, you never now he might play one 20/20 game for us
-
Looks a nicely balanced team, plenty of bowling options and decent strength in the batting.
-
Well the classic winner of this race is experienced, age 9 or 10 (7/10), with a good racing weight between 10-0 and 10-7. The most recent examples were Irish Raptor 10, 10-0 ( 2009) and Dunbrody Millar 9, 10-0 ( 2007). Of this years qualifiers Wee Robbie has the best current form, is a sound jumper and look ahead of his market despite small recent rises. So maybe pinsticking might work in this case, 20/1 looks a decent price.
