Highlights of Kent v Hants can be seen here : http://www.ecb.co.uk/news/domestic/lv-county-championship/lv-county-championship-video,1422,BP.html At the moment they have 3rd day highlights but one would imagine highlights of Day 4 will be up soon. The picture quality isn't brilliant but good enough.
-
Kent could still stay up but they would need to beat Yorkshire and get a stack of bonus points and also rely on us beating Warwickshire.
-
A bit of both I think, certainly Bates and Wood played more than would otherwise have been the case and lucky we are to have them alongside the likes of Vince, Briggs and Dawson. I suspect if everyone had been fit and available our line up would have been something like : Adams, Lumb, Carberry, McKenzie, Vince, Ervine, Pothas, Dimi, Kabir Ali, Cork/Tomlinson, Briggs. I certainly don't think the intention was to play Cork as much as we did but needs must so arguably the injuries forced us to play the old boy of the squad and thank heavens for that:D

I studied at Portsmouth in the 70's so had a few mates who supported Pompey. Went to a few games with them, bags of room and little atmosphere. The only time I recall a full house is whenever Saints played there and even then I suspect at least half of those who were there supporting Pompey were more interested in aggro. Yep, it's fair to say their support is average, no better, no worse and certainly nothing to be mouthing off about.
-
Beagrie was the moron who wrote an idiotic article about Saints/Pardew a week or so ago- on the Sky Sports website I believe. Another ex footballer who probably knows less than the average fan but is still paid good money to spout nonsense. I don't recall Pompey ever having great support and yet this myth has been perpetuated for years!

That figures: Definition of Dune: Ridges or moulds of loose, wind blown sand (fine to medium) forming on the backshore and forming the coastal features at certain locations. Dunes are more or less vegetated. Dunes are active coastal form elements acting as a flexible sand reservoir
-
That has really been the key ever since we lost Pothas, Dimi and Kabir Ali. Corky really did a magnificent job as already mentioned, I'm sure he'll be back for at least one more season !
-
Another 4 for Cork, 4 for Briggs and 2 for Tomlinson, well done lads ! Given all the injuries it has been a very good season, hopefully a little more luck next season on that score and I would hope to see us challenging for the title. Tahir coming back ?

Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssss:D

181/5, 3 for Cork, 2 for Briggs. Interesting that Carberry has bowled a couple of overs but Dawson hasn't bowled.
-
Given lunch would have been taken as you were typing it wasn't too likely. Still 32/2 at lunch in a game that Kent really need to win is good enough. As mentioned previously they play Yorkshire at Headingley in their final game which will be very tough for them. Still that's worse case scenario that they manage to scrape a draw, I'm very hopeful we will win, Briggs starting with a wicket really helps and Key and Denly are arguably their 2 best batsmen.

Sorry Stevo, I made a decision a while back not to post at all on the Saints forum. Now I do post a few comments but by no means regularly and only when I feel like it which, cricket aside, is invariably late evening. I was hoping to post tips for Doncaster but as Frankie knows a small problem with my present accomodation pretty much scuppered that. Indeed but for that I would pretty certainly have started daily threads. I'm sure it will be no consolation that I fancy both your selections today:D -
He has proved to be a quite brilliant signing, still amazed Lancs let him go but i'm not compaining
-
Don't generally like people saying what they think I mean but I can't argue with that to be honest
-
But surely that is against everything Dune believes in
-
Simple, that your attitude is to try to be as obnoxious as possible and get away with it. Credit where due though that along with Dune you also somehow manage to succeed with getting away with it.
-
I'm touched by your concern.

You mean your views which encapsulate just about everything that is supposed to be banned from this forum ? Even your laughable, not very subtle, jibes are always aimed at some group which you despise which accounts for about 99.99% of the population it seems. This little gem, who is "us" and how is it even possible for you to sink even lower ? Burning the Koran is very uncivilised and brings us down to their level. One thing I will grant you is that you know somebody or something which prevents anything more than a one day ban. Sadly your attitude and others like Turkish drive others away from here. I would like at this point to ask what about my right to come onto this forum and not have to read such bigoted nonsense and this thread amazingly still on the main board. Moderation ? What moderation ?
-
Yes, and another locked thread coming soon I suspect. What an irony though that one of the most distasteful posters on here ( never can figure out why you are not banned for life) should start it and the 2nd post made by an equally distasteful poster.
-
Close of play it is. Fingers crossed for a full day tomorrow, plenty of cloud is unlikely to do us any harm when we bowl.
-
I think it's clear this isn't the easiest pitch to score on so 56 for Carberry, 52 for Adams, 50 for Dawson, 38 for Hughes, 26 for Bates and 38* for Vince is a consistent effort and a lead of 294 looks good to me especially with it looking like play may have ended for today ? Only Ervine failed with 0 so I'm reasonably happy with that effort. Hopefully another 50 or so and then it will be very hard for Kent to win but weather permitting ( forecast for Friday is cloudy but only 20% chance of rain) we should have an excellent chance.
