  4. If Dazzling Light gets away at 5.25 it's a banker as the race doesn't start until 5.35 !
  5. Haha, well I write poems so any horse with Poet/Poetry etc in the name is almost impossible not to back ! I know Poets Place won for me last Saturday at Doncaster so 2+2 hopefully will equal 4. The Gold Cup is clearly a tricky race, two I also like at bigger prices are Redford and Noverre to Go. Nice to see you being so kind to your dear old Mum and Dad:D
  6. I stick to my assertion made before the ODI's began that Pakistan should just go home and at least get their own house in order. Something like this was always very likely, this one day series is meaningless as far as I'm concerned and has taken attention away from what was a very good end to the County Championship and also the Somerset v Warwickshire one day final at Lords today. GO HOME NOW !!
  7. Did he back it though ? I'm definitely on Poet's Place, I always back it ! However, it is unlikely to be a tip on here but we'll see !!
  8. Almost down to the last 4 and no surprise to see Leeds, Saints and Wigan through and Warrington or Huddersfield joining them. Saints and Leeds will have home advantage next week with Saints chosing Wigan or Warrington/Huddersfield as their opponents. Don't think it will make a great deal of difference though I have a sneaky feeling Saints might swerve Wigan ! I'm with the bookies who have it very tight, Saints at around 2/1, Wigan 11/4 and Leeds similarly priced though Bet365 go 100/30 Leeds. Losing Danny McGuire is another big blow for them. Warrington are around 4/1 but still need to beat the Giants tonight, could be a bruising game. Should be an exciting 2 weeks
  9. Thanks Stevo, don't forget your poor old Dad before you spend all your winnings !
  10. That is also true. ALL teams played their best team every game.

  12. No offence taken, just a shame you missed the greatest day in our history
  13. I think gloating should be an infractable offence
  14. Done along with Cheveton, one year Frankie will get around to updating the table !
  15. Oh yeah of little faith but just enough to stick with the winner, 2/2 for you Stevo, 1st time ever ?

  17. That's clearly because idiots like you and I keep posting on it
  18. That's not far removed from the side I "selected" after the Kent game though at that point I wasn't 100% sure Tahir was coming back. As he is he'll clearly get the nod ahead of Briggs. Good point about needing an extra strike bowler and with Jones hopefully in the equation it would make sense to play either him or Tomlinson with Griffiths yet another option. As I stated above I'm sure Bates will have his chances next season though clearly from the batting point of view you'd have to go with Pothas. Adams, Lumb, Carberry, McKenzie, Vince, Ervine, Pothas, Dimi, Kabir Ali, Cork/Tomlinson, Briggs. ( Tahir) Bring on next season

  20. Simply this : He who knows not and knows not he knows not: he is a fool-shun him. He who knows not and knows he knows not: he is simple-teach him. He who knows and knows not he knows: he is asleep-wake him. He who knows and knows he knows: he is wise-follow him. Me ? I've just woken up
  21. Unfortunately I can only base my views on a handful of games though also the regular reports on several sites including here ! Firstly it's good to know McKenzie and Tahir will be back. Cork I would agree is very likely to come back based on the way he has played and his comments about feeling he needs to know he still has something to offer, clearly he has ! It was inevitable that the return of Tahir would reduce the number of games Briggs plays but as Weston Saint says he is a young player who is still developing and I see the opportunity for him to develp further alongside Tahir as a positive. Siimilarly with Bates but with Pothas more likely than not to suffer a few injuries he'll surely get his chances next year, without being "ITK" I might have a guess Bates could play some part anyway though his batting means he really needs to come in at around 8 though saying that I have seen him more than Pothas this season and I think the batting potential is there, the application definitely is. I'd make Ervine my player of the season though Adams has had a brilliant season and wouldn't argue with him ( or indeed Corky) as being nominated player of the season. Our batting overall looks very strong, I have a friendly bet with someone Vince will play for England by the end of 2012, even if I lose I don't think he'll be far away by then. Potentially our bowling looks strong as well, it was great to see Jones taking wickets in our final game and a fit Jones and Ali would make a very good opening attack with any number of players offering back up. Tomlinson, Griffiths and Wood all offer options along with the all rounders Dimi, Ervine and Cork. Touch wood we have plenty of bowling options and we'll not suffer as badly with injuries.
  22. That's all well and good but if I were you I'd be asking my mate why the hell he didn't tell Matt, "yep, that's fine as long as Saint_Stevo can join us ! "
  23. Thanks for the thought but that day and the days that followed are engraved on my heart:D
  24. At the end of the day the team that won the most games won the title so that's fair enough. Essex only won 2 games including of course the very 1st game of the season v us and got relegated. Kent and Hants won 3 apiece, our vital game was last week and for once things went our way. If any team might feel a little aggrieved it is Glamorgan after Worcester successfully chased a run target set by Sussex who were already promoted. It was a good effort by Worcester to reach what was a difficult target but one might ask why Sussex allowed a contrived finish with nothing to lose or gain and in fact Worcs got home with about 15 overs to spare. It was also a Susses side missing several key players so I'm inclined to suggest Worcs were lucky, shades of 1974
