Bookies say 2/5 England and 15/8 Australia.

3-1 at Ibrox and 2-0 at The Dell so at least we stuffed them on the pitch ! Reached the final, lost I think to Newcastle aet. Edit: Ah found it in the excellent History of the Saints 1885-1987, still got my original copy complete with my name and that of my Dad amongst the 770 who subscribed pre publication. Also notice amongst others John Motson ( of course!), Derek Obee ( distant relative), Ron Davies and Micky Channon.

Both I think, a horrible experience Yes, I was in the Archers Rd end as usual and there must have been a good few thousand Rangers fans.
-
England WILL win.................by one run
-
Well we were in 1974 though it was no exactly a friendly, think it was a Texaco Cup match at the Dell and they did not like losing ( both home and away as it turned out ! ) Worst game for trouble I ever saw at the Dell.
-
Yes and 2 English players and an Irish player and not silly money either given the quality of the players. Did we not sell Kenna to finance the purchase of Gordon Watson which proved good business especially as I think we had Dodd to play RB anyway ?
-
Lol, only Hughes and Bellamy I suspect. Otherwise I imagine they have about 25 translators to pay as well !!

I'm glad I'm not the only one who likes Euell !! Also glad that the concensus seems to be it is not surprising Murty is unfit at present. Deserves a chance at least given all that has happened and as bpsaint said he did miss the tail end of last season. Judge him when he is fit, a very reasonable approach I'm sure most would agree.

Does anyone care :smt102 I don't !

An opinion I agree with totally, have seen more trouble at Charlton than anywhere else including Portsmouth. Palace fans are almost as bad.
-
Hmm, I don't think Pompey and Rangers do "friendlies" !
-
Well it could hardly be worse since in my experience these are the 3 of the teams that caused most trouble at Saints in the past albeit mainly in the mid 70's though I fear it will not have changed. Grief it would be even be possible for Skate/Rangers fans to attend at least some of the Saints game. A potential nightmare I reckon and ridiculous timing so indeed they should move the Pompey game, preferably to Ibrox !
-
Not to watch though, frankly I can often hardly be bothered to watch even MOTD. Years ago I'd not think of missing it and record it if I was out.

Saints Fans in Amesbury / Bulford and Durrington
chrisobee replied to Amesbury Saint's topic in The Saints
Lol, how could I forget Stevenage !! But you would lose your bet as I'm right handed but still real smart -
Oh Man City are spending stupid money. 9 English players out of 32 players in their 1st team squad. Though to be fair they have signed/re-signed Bridge, Barry and SWP.
-
Well I guess Blackburn have won the League Cup in recent years but even Pompey managed to win the FA Cup !! Just compare that to us
-
Yes, 2 sounds right to me so I'd be happy with Bridge and Robinho !!
-
Lol, we'll see. I agree scoring 290 would be more than possible but I prefer to be in our current position especially given that KP and Bopara are really out of touch and Cook is struggling as well despite his runs.
-
Can't you remember what you were thinking about 6 hours ago By the way I hope you backed Crazy Chris at NA today !!
-
No, I don't think so and I mentioned 500+ which was certainly possible.
-
Since we'll never know what would have happened if Strauss had enforced the follow on it's academic really. One thing it definitely would not have done was to guarantee at least a draw as who is to say the Aussies would not have scored 500+ and then left us chasing a difficult 4th innings target. You just have to say that if the Aussies can win from 128-5 it will be the finest win in Test Match history and if it happens I'd rather give them the due credit rather than rely on hindsight to say whether or not enforcing the follow on was right or wrong. For sure though it looked a very good decision at 128-5. In the end it is down to each persons opinion and as I stated clearly above I thought not enforcing the follow on was the correct decision.
-
Can't see it being a draw as the weather forecast is good ( which means it will probably rain all day!). The Clarke/Haddin partnership is obviously key, at least both are in my fantasy league team !! As you say if England break this partnership early then it's likely to be all over by lunch if not in the 1st hour. However, if they get through to lunch it really will be squeaky bum time !
-
Actually I'm sure they must have at least one whole team they could loan to us !!
-
Do you think he's good enough for us
