We did have a fair bit of swagger and arrogance and rightly so! We never seemed to get the credit we deserved. I remember picking up a video reviewing the 1983/84 season and even though we finished 2nd to Liverpool in Div 1 and only by 3 points there was no mention of us anywhere on the box of the video though Man U ( who finished 4th) and Arsenal who were 6th were mentioned in some detail after Liverpool. Needless to say I did not buy the video !

Indeed, he was possibly the best goal scoring midfield player I've seen for Saints, his last minute winner v Man Utd at the Dell in 81/82 is one of those goals you never forget. Very, very good player and deservedly popular with the fans.
