Now that was just silly. 2 NR's, Berling goes off at 2/5, Anhar amazingly at 10/1 so no need in the end to even think about whether to have a bet on Anhar. A no brainer, result Anhar wins at 10/1, Berling 4th at 2/5.The bookies were clearly influenced by something, I have to assume it was weight of support for Berling not that I really care. Just wish now I'd had a £100 on instead of £10 !!

Ok, just for you and only what I know to be true.

Sports that are not acceptable for men to play

More at home at sea than on land I'd say. The classic race was in Sydney 2000 when he won an epic duel against Brazilian nemesis Robert Scheidt to win gold .Going into the final race, Scheidt only needed to finish in the top 20 to secure gold but Ainslie took the fight to the Brazilian and enmeshed him in a private head-to-head at the back of the fleet. He forced Scheidt into an error ( he needed to pass Ainslie to get into the top 20) which led to his disqualification.Sheer genius, nobody else could have done that I believe -
Just deciding whether to raise your hopes ! I never claim to be ITK though I'd say it's about 60/40 this player will sign, I'm working on it though naturally he can't commit himself until it nears a definite conclusion. He definitely likes Saints, the possible snag is our League 1 status and one PL team at least expressing an interest though I gather he's unlikely to go there, too cold !

Sailing is one very tough sport, great to watch at the Olympics. Ben Ainslie in particular is awesome. However, this is TMS so going off topic is the norm isn't it ? I rarely frequent this place ( apart from very quick posts on Word Association) so being here is kind of odd ! -
We'll win the league even if we don't sign any more players. But given we almost certainly will then it will be more than by a few points. Compared to say the 1977/78 promotion team the squad looks fine except it lacks the flair and bite of Ball/Williams in midfield and maybe right back though I'm confident we will sign a right back and at least one CM player. The main thing is apart from two loaness in Papa and Antonio we have not lost anyone nor are we likely too though of course a few believe we will ( Lallana, Schneiderlin for example, Lallana definitely will not leave and I doubt Morgan will either.) Would not be surprised at all if Surman returned nor if there was one very major and surprise signing, I have an inkling who it might be but the only clue, a big one, is on my Twitter page !!

Note to self: must try harder ! -
Yes, I saw it at the cinema when it was released, excellent film but indeed a very sad ending.

Oh, the Brendon Bombers, I'm sure I played against them, won 6-2 I think and I scored my only ever hat trick, ah the memories. Was played on the Common. I did play against Manny Andruszewski in my final year at school, just a few months older than me. By then I had converted from a right winger into a midfield player after a year out following a foot operation which suited my free spirit ! Basketball was invented and first played at Springfield College in the US though it was the aforementioned Canadian ( Naismith I think) who was the person at that college who invented the game. Edit : I have played in EVERY position in my time including GK, scored a penalty as we were leading 7-2 and I only volunteered to play in goal as the only other person who was willing was frankly awful, it was a works team and we or rather they ( I was unavailable due to chess commitments ) lost 18-2 v a team we had previously drawn 2-2 against, I played right back in that game and our opponents said we were the best team in our own 6 yard box they had ever played. Fair point, we cleared a fair few off the line and WITHOUT using our hands, even our goalie never used his hands:lol: -
That'll we will win the league of course Played 46 Won 30 Draw 10 Lose 6 F 123 A 25 Pts 100 Think that should do it This really belongs in the "Golden Threads" you do realise

I think you'll find that though a Canadian invented the game the first games were played at US colleges, -

Quite right, I don't know if you played much football as a nipper but I remember playing for my school team on a Saturday, Sunday League U16 next day and then another school game on the Monday. Ok, you simply cannot compare the intensity but then we would not have had the luxury of so much free time or the time to train. I would have played every day if I could ! -
Don't drink aside from a bottle of cider once in a blue moon and never indoors. No, 45 games of course. My theory is simple, I back Saints to win ( a few draws in very hard games), if they do win great, if they lose then I'm really not bothered about a wrong prediction as opposed to 3 lost points!

Me neither, the football season goes on long enough without a winter break. But seriously don't you have any sympathy for those poor PL players who often have to play TWO games in a week, what a bind that must be -

I did try ice skating once as well, also about 30 years ago. I was Ok for a while but once I went above a snail's pace I kept falling over so wisely I think gave up ! -
45 tbh:D Never mind, I'm confident that with scores for every game for the 1st time I'll finish top half....also for the 1st time ever if it happens I believe.

Oh I spotted the sarcasm but chose to ignore it If you think you're in a bad way the furthest I have been in the last 4 days is 50 yards to my very local pharmacy for just about every medication for flu/viruses they have. Plus gallons of lucozade, can't eat, it's the heat:cry: I hate hot weather, give me a freezing cold winter's day anytime. -

Boy, if I'm behind you then I'm either going senile or the heat is too much:lol: -
For sure he never wore pads, just the prissy nature of football today would not suit his playing style
