  1. No, I was just trying to make the point that most players would have handled the ball, not that it was right. It's still cheating and 100% no I would never want England/Saints to win that way. However, to avoid any doubt I'm not trying to take the moral high ground, I can see both points of view but I only agree with one which is a reasonable stance to take!
  2. And you're 2 of the admin team on here, I'm sure that's no coincidence
  3. Noble sacrifice, that's clearly nonsense.
  4. Don't think I would if I'm being honest, I hate cheating and that was cheating at it's worst. Anyway something else for FIFA to mull over and do nothing !
  5. I think Holland will beat Uruguay but if Uruguay did win it would be a mockery if Suarez played in the final. That said how many players would not have handled the ball ?
  6. Methinks you are too set in your ways;)
  7. Just because it always has been the case doesn't make it right, penalty tries are awarded regularly in Rugby, League and Union. They are light years ahead of football in just about everything, bizarre when football is supposed to be the "world game."
  8. Of course but can you imagine FIFA introducing something as innovative as that ?
  9. Hmm, Uruguay essentially cheat to deny a clear goal which would have been the winner and then win the shoot out, no justice. Holland should be far too good for Uruguay especially with Uruguay having a few players suspended. Returning to the last minute penalty, "great call by the ref" says the commentator ( Jim Beglin I think) when you would have had to be blind to miss it !
  10. Decent game but it all happened in last minute of ET when Uruguay conceded a penalty, Suarez I think handling on the line and sent off. Ghana then miss the penalty so it's now a penalty shoot out:lol:
  11. Oh good, I'm glad it is not only me:D You are right though, it does take longer and even longer if you have to edit the scores depending on whether or not you've entered them correctly in the 1st place:rolleyes:
  12. Sorry, I can't remember if Saints are away do we still put their score 1st or the opponents ? I'd imagine the opponents score first but I really cannot remember:blush:
  13. I think I'll "mention" more horses
  14. That prediction based on what exactly ?
  15. Seems a little more confusing than before ? Anyway, click on Prediction League in menu at top which leads to this : SaintsWeb Prediction League The concept's simple, predict the score in every Saints game and score points based on how accurate your predictions are. Score 10 points if you get the result and score spot-on or 5 points if you get the result (win, lose or draw) but not the score right. If you didn't get the score right, you also get 1 point if you correctly predicted the number of goals one of the teams scored. The SaintsWeb Prediction League is open to all registered members of SaintsWeb. If you're not yet registered, click here! 16. http://www.racinguk.com/page/forcelogin/Racereplays/0,,12542~1619429~567157~20100702,00.html Poor, poor ride by Eddie Ahern at Warwick 4.20. Corr Point a very lucky winner at 8/11 after Stewards enquiry. Ahern on the best horse but nearly paid the price for posing, just get on and win the bleeding race.
  17. For Friday, main bets : 2.20 - Sandown - Piscean - e/w. @ 16/1 (General) 3.35 - Doncaster - Aldermoor - @ 8/1 (General) 5.05 - Sandown - Dancing Dude - @ 13/2 (General) 8.30 - Beverley - Dimashq - @ 7/1 (General) 9.00 - Beverley - Bertie Southstreet - @ 6/1 (General) Others mentions : Doncaster 3.00 Sparkling Smile @ 15/8 : Not absolutely sure to stay the trip, this is a very competitive little race ) 7 go to post) Won 11/10 Sandown 4.35 - Verdant @11/8 : A likely winner but no value IMO. Won 5/6 Beverley 7.55 - Pendragon @ 6/4 : Short enough I think, General Tufto may represent ew value Pendragon won 10/11, General Tufto 3rd 17/2 Good luck all, Chris Edit: Nice hat trick for Bungle, singles or doubles/treble ? Zebedee the other at 8/15. Winners are winners Only one winner here but Piscean finishing strongly to win at 16/1 thus ensuring a decent profit even though my other 4 main bets lost.
  18. Curses, though give me a 20/1 placed horse over a short priced winner any day:D
  19. FWIW: Looking back over recent years this race has been won by superstars such as Sea The Stars (last year), Falbrav, Halling, Pilsudski, and Daylami. The Eclipse exhibits a number of strong trends, and the favourite Twice Over hits most of these square on the head. The horse’s background leading into the race matches very closely the typical profile of previous winners. He’s the right age, with the right breeding, he’s had two races already this season and one within the last month in the Prince Of Wales Stakes (13 of the last 14 winners had their last race at either Royal Ascot or the Derby), and he’s managed a top two position at least twice in his last four races. If I were compiling the odds for this race I would have him around the 6/4 mark and he’s currently available at 2/1 so I think it’s a good bet. The only stain on Twice Over’s otherwiser pristine trends copy book is that he has been around the block a few times. As a five year old this is perhaps to be expected. But history shows us that all but two of the last fourteen winners had raced between five and sixteen times, and Twice Over has completed 18 races. However, I don't think 2 extra races is significant and Twice Over looks the one to be on.
  20. Martha And The Muffins- Echo Beach "Far away in time" - that's where I've always wanted to be:smug: Talking Heads - Road To Nowhere But on the Road To Nowhere is where I generally am
  21. No winners but at least Perfect Friend ran well to finish 2nd behind the obvious choice in Saratosa Sunshine @20/1. I stick by my curse of Cato theory though thanks:D Chris
  22. My first visit to The Lounge for a while. First I read the shambles that was : http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?23527-Advice-needed-Re-Speeding-Driving-Ban Now I'm reading another thread which has gone so far off topic one wonders why it has not been closed as well, different thread, essentially the same old arguments going on and on. Whatever happened to TMS Back to the sports forum I go, it's been enlightening.
  23. Fair point but JCP employees are generally encouraged to claim they have found people jobs when in fact they did no such thing. That enables targets to be met.........until the Auditors move in and spot what a 5 year old child could spot and cancel all the job entries and even the honest few get tarred by the same brush. Shameful, JCP staff on the whole are selfish, stupid and generally don't have a clue what they are doing. Unfortunately many are considered "untouchable " as to dismiss them is way too expensive.
