  1. Nice one kipper
  2. A few more : 4.15 - Nottingham - Stadium Of Light @ 7/2 (General) Still a maiden after six races but he showed improved form over 14 furlongs at Sandown last time out and stamina appears to be his forte. Tapped for toe and not finding much room enetering the latter stages he stayed on dourly and was closing on the principals at the line. The assessor has given him a three pound rise for that effort but it was his first attempt at a staying trip and he has the potential to progress again. The presence of a couple of front runners should ensure a generous gallop which will suit Stadium Of Light. His Sire has a good strike rate over longer distances and he represents a powerful stable who send just the one to the races today. 5.25 - Nottingham - Lady Pattern - e/w. Available @ 14/1 (General) Having already had a win bet on Field Day going to have a small ew bet also on Lady Pattern. She is more exposed than some of these but she has run two solid races in defeat over seven furlongs this season and suggested last time out at Newbury that the step up to a mile could suit. Her two and a quarter length defeat at the hands of an older, back to form and well handicapped Mare was a creditable effort. Back against her own age group she receives weight from almost the entire field and her racing style means should get a good tow into the race behind the pacesetters. She meets a few Fillies firmly on the upgrade but she was initially a promising Juvenile and under today's conditions she may be able to return to that kind of form. The yard are in very good order and send just the one to the races today. 7.40 - Ripon - Masked Dance -@ 7/1 (General) Kelly's Eye and Timeless Stride will command most attention and, along with Esuvia and the reappearing Walvis Bay, they make this a decent handicap. However, Masked Dance could be the one who could trump them all. He improved markedly on his Juvenile form when winning on his reappearance over seven furlongs on soft ground at York and the five pound rise he has incurred for that victory looks fair. The first two pulled well clear and the second, gene Autry, has since run well in the Coral Sprint at Newmarket. The sixth has also subsequently won so the form has a solid look to it. Masked Dance drops back to six furlongs but he was a winner over this C/D in a Seller last season so he is not devoid of pace. He handled good ground then but being by Captain Rio he would prefer a drop of rain. He could've been better drawn but the booking of a jockey who has a 32% strike rate for the yard this season is a positive. 8.10 - Ripon - Tajneed - @ 5/1 (General) 8.20 - Kempton - Head Down - e/w. @ 22/1 (Stan James) Cheers, off out to enjoy more sunshine Chris
  3. Not a lot to excite today, most of those I like very short but I am going to back these, probably at least one win double : Nott 16:50 Back Rio De La Plata Would be very confident but Godolphin out of form. That said this horse is the likely winner especially with Cityscape a N/R. Short @ around 6/5. Cart 17:05 Spare Me @ 8/1 Nott 17:25 Field Day @ 9/4 Should continue to improve and 9/4 a decent price in my opinion. Ripon 19:10 Tropical Bachelor NAP @ 5/2 Been knocking on the door and with Ryan Moore on board I think this has an excellent chance. Cheers, Chris
  4. I think I spot a pattern emerging 2.10 Frank Street 2.20 Sir Frank 2.50 Saintly Lady 5.05 Solent 6.20 Love you Louis 6.50 Franco is my Name Not to mention : 4.05 River Indus 4.40 Geography 7.10 Tropical Bachelor Good system Franco ! Chris
  5. Well I'm certainly due a few good days Frankie, bizarre how one minute just about anything you back seems to run a stormer, next minute you wonder if you have a clue what you're doing !! Still some great racing to come this month, the WC and the sun is shining so it's not so bad Good luck all with whatever takes your fancy today.
  6. On here they certainly are ! Your bet on Cape Blanco looked inspired until the trainer seemingly decided to head for France probably on the basis that you had backed it at a decent price, Sods Law at it's worst !
  7. I swear there cannot be anywhere else in the entire universe where such a positive post would meet with such negativity. Really and truly some people need to get a grip, get a life, get something but relax, maybe even try a smile, it need only be this but it would be better to be this and definitely not Desperate
  8. Close ! May even be right, I know it was soon 2-2 but by half time it was 5-2 and then 9-3 after an hour with no goals at all in the last 30 minutes!
  9. Thanks, I remember 1975 better than 2005 and as for 1965.. on Sep 18 1965 Saints beat Wolves 9-3 at The Dell. What was the score after 5 minutes!?
  10. Notts Forest and Bristol Rovers
  11. Well done Frankie, kipper will probably have blown it already Chris
  12. Oh no, the curse is well and truly on today ! A win double for me too on Comedy Act and Aestival. Both short prices but both should win, going to throw in Elshabakiya in the Leicester 2.15 for a trixie though am having a seperate small win bet on of course Star Today in that race ! Also on Sands Crooner (ew) at Leicester. The really good news Frankie is I'm opposing your NAP Leic 14:15 Elshabakiya/ Star Today Leic 15:15 Scottish Boogie Each Way @ 20/1 ( Several firms) Has yet to conclusively prove he has trained on but he looked in need of his reappearance at Kempton in April and was much too keen to last home over Sandown's stiff mile last time out. he showed marked improvement in his last two races over seven furlongs as a Juvenile and, if he has retained/improved on that level of ability with another Winter on his back, then he could run much better than his market price indicates. today's jockey has a profitable 24% strike rate for today's yard (28% on their 3 year olds) and a very profitable 19% strike rate for today's owner (24% on his 3 year olds). Leic 15:45 Comedy Act Leic 16:15 Highland Cadett Each Way @ 16/1 ( Ladbrokes) There aren't many solid options in this field and, although he has yet to finish in the frame or get within five lengths of a winner in any of his four races to date, Highland Cadett could run well at a big price. He didn't show much in two maidens and a Claimer on the A/W over 8-10 furlongs in Feb/March but there was much more encouragement on his first attempt on grass at Salisbury last time out. He travelled well through the race and only gave way going into the latter stages. beaten seven and a half lengths, he probably found the 12 furlongs on a testing track beyond him. The drop back to ten furlongs could suit and he certainly gives the impression he has the ability to win from a mark as low as 60. This race won't take much winning and it's likely Highland Cadett has more to come than he has so far shown. Leic 17:15 Sands Crooner Each Way @14/1 ( Various) Redc 17:30 Cheveyo Each Way @12/1 ( Bet 365) Even for a Maiden Handicap this is a very moderate affair. Cheveyo hasn't achieved much in seven outings on turf but his form on the A/W in his native Ireland suggests he is not devoid of ability. He has only been seen in five races for current connections and, although 9/11 over five furlongs last time out at Catterick, he was only four and a half lengths off the winner after being slowly away. The step back up to six furlongs is in his favour and he may finally be coming to terms with his new surroundings. He has fallen to a tempting mark of 55 and he has a useful three pound claimer to assist him. Yarm 19:50 A Pocketful Of Rye Better than his recent form figures suggest and caught the eye running on into midfield at Nottingham last time out. Held up off the pace he never found the racing room he needed when the pace quickened but did show a decent turn of foot when the gaps did appear. He runs from the same mark today in an easier race with stronger handling. Granted better luck in running he should be on the premises at the business end of the race. Yarm 20:55 Aestival Good luck, could be an awful day indoors and out! Chris
  13. I think he should infract himself for the corniest pun ever on this forum !
  14. Nah, though he was a pain at times I don't think he preferred Watford over Saints! Yes, he still lurks but is much quieter these day. Thank God
  15. I reckon the old boy is our winner
  16. Hoskins for sure. Holmes around about 45 I think though well over 50 in all competitions.
  17. I had noticed but let it pass
  18. Agreed, no idea where Pat Parker came from !
