Taking a break today though 2 did catch my eye albeit without any great deal of reason though on closer inspection :
5.15 - Newmarket - Bahrati - e/w. @ 8/1 (General) Caught the eye for more than one reason over seven furlongs at Newbury last time out. He broke slowly, which he has often done, and wanted to go much faster from an early stage than the pace of the race would allow him. It was also noticeable that his head carriage tended to make him hang to his left and it wasn't easy for his jockey to steer him through the gaps that were opening momentarily in front of him. This hampered his progress when the race started in earnest but, to the horse's credit he found a good turn of foot to make up late ground and finish within a short distance of the placed horses. He will need to be sharper from the gates today but the faster pace of this shorter trip looks likely to suit and he has run well on both previous occasions he has tackled six furlongs. Drawn in stall 12 today he will have a left hand rail to run against if his jockey elects to stay stands side. With a decent break he could run much straighter and be a much simpler ride, which in turn could see him improve on what he has so far produced.
5.50 - Newmarket - King's 'N' Dreams e/w. @12/1 (General) At prices of 9/4 and 3/1, Lutine Bell and Tell Halak respectively look worth taking on. The booking of Jimmy Fortune for King's 'N' Dreams takes the eye and he looks worthy of e/w consideration. He has travelled well in both his races this season at Windsor and Kempton and could find this more galloping track to his liking. He has shown he handles both good and soft ground so any further rain wouldn't inconvenience him. His close fourth in a six furlong Doncaster Maiden last November suggests a handicap mark of 69 is not beyond him and he does give the impression that he is a slow learner. He is bred to make a better three year old and thsi race contains more quantity than quality.
EW double.
