Thats the crux of the matter. It'll be my father's word against the salesman who not even be there anymore. Its worth a try though.
-
Yes it is a long time to complain but my point was that the salesman lied in order to sell the set. He paid £2.5k for the TV and stand with the intention that it would be 'future-proof' for HD when it kicked in properly. As a knock-on result Sky HD is useless for us and so is Blu-Ray etc due to the telly. He would have been happy to pay a bit more for a HD set but the salesman confirmed it was HD on the second instence the old man went back to voice his concerns. Hopefully JL will come to some compromise, ah well. Will see how it goes.
-
Hmm interesting. I shall let the old man know. He bought it on the premise that it was fully HD compatible, so I think he will kick up a fuss when he goes to JL.

Its a Pansonic TH42PE30. The other models were TH42PZ/PX Its got a Component socket but form what I've read online it helps with upscaling to a 720 progressive scan (thats my understanding - a little confusing though and not sure if its right!). Thanks

The old man bought a plasma telly about 2 and half years ago. The salesman said it was HD ready. However I did query this with the old man, so he went back and checked. Again the salesman said it has progressive scanning so it is completely HD ready. However I've recently checked the back and there seems to be no HDMI slots and suspect that the TV is indeed not HD compatible. Have checked online two and it seems that the model number is the same except for one a couple of letter in the serial, differentiating between the normal and HD versions. I was wondering what actions he could take (as the old man is going to JL this weekend to see what they say) and whether people have had similar problems?

What it was a good quality show and very well written and produced by the guy behind Buffy AND Firefly. And you cant argue not seeing a bit of Amy Acker on the show. She is lovely! Other than that I need to look up Birds of Prey. That was only one season long and never shown here.

Ah nice one. Congrats old man.

Football Manager Live - Tell us about your team

I can still play it. I think there are ways using DosBox to play it. Nevland is always difficult to get hold off if you were in the lower divisions. But Larsen was absolute quality. Hmm never bought Jermaine Wright or Colin Murdoch but will do so the next time I boot it up! Other players of note - Michael Branch, Richard Norris and John Curtis. However did you know players would get recycled after they retired? Maradona, Sammer, Gullit, Weah and Ian Rush would come back as youngsters for small clubs or free transfers! Happy days. -
Isnt Davis getting some injections though? Hence not playing?

In fairness I couldn't give two hoots if someone called me a computer geek. But I do like this thread. Anyhows the DS kicks everything's arse when it comes to sales figures though or so I've read.

Why can you dismiss the sulk theory? Could it just as easily not be the fact that JP only wanted players who were likely to stay for the season? Hence the initial reason for Skacel not being included in the squad? After the transfer window did he not get injured? Please somebody correct me if I'm wrong. If he is unmotivated to play (due to Saints being numbskulls and saying he can go! So its our own fault really) then I shouldn't see why its a problem him not being involved in playing IMO. Also I think this appearance money thing is getting blown out of all proportion. I'm sorry but £4k for an appearance/win bonus? Yeah right! This leads me to think its more down to his attitude and wether JP rates him or not. Either way I think he'll go out on loan soon.

And if you see my later post I replied, saying that I jumped the gun - implying what I stated was not all correct which was point out by Roswell. And as a result am looking into it a bit more before posting more on the subject that isnt all drivel!
-
Ah ok, may have jumped the gun there then but am sure I have seen those numbers bandied around before. I'll have another look into it.

Yes it was £50 for a Prem Plus ticket but that was in addition to already having a Sky Sports package. To be fair with Setanta that £129.90 isnt just for football though as you get other sports too including boxing and UFC.
-
I've been hoping for awhile that the bubble bursts. Either that or its going to go down the way it does in the US in terms of television. People paying on a PPV basis for nearly everything. Its frightening to what lenghts Americans are willing to pay for sports events. $50/£25 on big matches? Then you have all the other sports of basketball, baseball, UFC, racing. Its crazy. I was glad Sky ditched their Prem Plus matches when if you didnt have the season ticket you could order games individually. You had to be a mug to buy a game for £12 a pop.
-
Either that or you can go to Companies House and get full versions there but it'll cost a £1 a pop. Plus additional reports there such as Company appointments, outstanding loans etc.

I'm just waiting for CH to denounce all this as he is clearly ITK. -

Lol. It must have been a very special pigeon or someone is a pigeon breeder!
-
Its all in the annual accounts so you can where the money has gone. And IMO the training facilities will keep us in good stead for the future.
-
Not necessarily. It does work with regular coke!
-
Thats right. Pop a couple in a bottle/can and let the fun times begin!
