  2. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1291970/Couple-threatened-social-services-children-ride-bikes-school.html Well, this couple do and they've been warned they could be reported to social services. Tbf, 5 is a little young for this trip unserpervised imo. But, I used to walk or cycle to school unsupervised from about the age of 8 or 9 and we let our youngest (who is now 11) cycle to and from school. I suppose it depends on how safe you think the route is and if you think your littlun is savvy enough to manage.
  3. Title says it all really.... My CD/DVD drive isn't visible anywhere, not in My Computer or Device Manager, nowhere. I've tried editing the registry, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes and running an application from Microsoft to try and fix it. OS is Home XP and the CD drive is getting power 'cos I can open and close the tray. Any help gratefully received!!!! Cheers....

  11. I tried Hamster's advice to try and stop itching. I was applying it in the bathroom when the missus asked me to hurry up. I told her I wouldn't be long as I was on the vinegar strokes. She hasn't talked to me since....

  14. Has nobody started a thread for this?! Fabulous afternoon and evening of cricket. Never really chasing the total, always felt comfortable (alright, felt a bit nervous when Collingwood went for 11) but what a way to finish!!!

  16. I remember a time when it was those in the public sector that were asking for parity with those in the private sector. Recession does funny things to peoples' perceptions.
  17. Went down and renewed mine and my nipper's with my newly acquired credit card which will now be locked safely away until renewal time next year.
  18. If you liked City of God, Elite Squad or Gomorrah then this is for you. Briefly, the film consists of 2 tales that eventually intertwine; that of El Casper trying to escape the clutches of the violent gang that he belongs to and that of Sayra, a Guatemalan trying to escape with her father, uncle and brother to the USA to live with relatives. To try and explain why Casper wants to leave the gang and how the two main characters meet would be to give away the plot, but this is a very violent tale of romance (unrequited and suggested), humour (dark and infrequent), bloodshed (very violent and fortunately infrequently) misguided loyalties and betrayal. There is redemption (hopefully) at the end but this is via plenty of shocks. In Spanish with English subtitles 8/10. Gripping stuff.
