sorry i think we are still considered bigger than pompey and it was maybe the older generation who may have considered pompey the big club pre war. i think most people would lump them in the burnleys of this world. huddersfeild,bolton were once considered big clubs along with charlton who use to get big gates pre -war. when pompey started their defence of their fa cup at home only 10.000 pompey fans attended which is terrible. they hardly sell out all their home games and most pompey fans will tell you that they do not ned a bigger ground because they were unlikely to fill it. you are right about the pitaful pompey songs.

i,m with you and feel for the staff at the club.
