you can see it on here with their sad winner takes all mentality
-
i think you will find out it happened under a bush government who gave big business whatever they wanted.
-
sorry the recession was created in wall street with its casino economy which is worldwide,i just think labour was in power for to long.
-
and the result would be no different apart from labour with a new leader performing better.
-
looks like your fighting yesterdays wars, good result from a hung parliament and happy to see a government with over 51% of the vote in charge :biggrin:lets hope its the end of minority governments ignoring the wishes of the majority and the start of grown up politics.
-
its funny how those who want first past the post are happy with a bankrupt system and their present system has delivered a hung parliment. one commentator has said within the partys their has always been horse tradeing under the present system but it has been hidden from the public. great result a hung parliament
-
yes but then they would lose the centre ground in the country.
-
nice one:smt038
-
they don,t seem to care about that which is not surprising.
-
i think it somes them up moaning about a representative democracy is unbelievable ,the same mindset which used to moan about giving votes to women:D

one which does needs over 50 % to have a mandate in the country unlike a unfair one where a minority government with 36% of the vote overrules 64% of the voters. reminds me of the corrupt union barons of the 1970s. -
i agree we will never leave the eu because none of the major partys want it. i,ve got respect for ukip and anyone who wants to leave the eu needs to vote for them unlike the torys who play the anti eu card. don,t waste your votes on the tories if you want to leave the eu you ,ve got to vote ukip:D
-
i agree and if the tories had been in power they would have did the same has brown did to stop a 30,s depression in the uk. it is a worldwide slump started in america caused by the casino economy .
-
i think the hardcore torys and labour supporters stand out with their closed minds. thank god cameron is turning out to be a moderate and aiming the centre ground but worry about some of the nutters still leftover from their schoolboy thatcherite ideology still. thank god we got our hung parliment:)
-
yes i think you know the Authoritarians is what i was getting at and was not surprised by the first person to reply;)
-
yes and lets see the diehards from the robert mugabe schools of politics justifying the first past the post system:) even michael portillo who was a diehard supporter has changed his mind and said the present system is not Representative of the will of the people.

the economy is the priority but this first pass the post voting system is bust and we all know it. i,ve always believed we should have a system which represents the will of the people in voting terms and a elected second chamber like most modern democracys.
