  1. Brilliant - links to Al Fahim and BVI companies..... What could possibly go wrong this time - they'll have checked it all out thoroughly and made sure all the sums add up, along with evidence of the funding (to 2016!) Skates decide to "back the bid" as it promises money and success! FL turn a blind eye to the evidence before them and pass them straight through the FPPT, not wishing to block a serious bidder and risk the wrath of 250,000 southeast dwellers. More belly laughs for Saints fans, for several more years!
  2. They started that bit already - must be drawing lots before each game to decide who gets the privilege of having a week off (paid) whilst the rest "graft"!
  3. The trick pulled by Pompey here means that can "have their cake" and they "can eat it" too..... If a player proves good enough, but wants to leave at the end of their "non-contracted" one month contract - then the skates can hold their registration (even if out of contract) until the January window If a player proves too expensive or just not good enough - they can release the registration and the player is then free to sign for someone else, having been "non-contract". It's the registration that they can hold on to - that way, they can (in effect) hold a player to ransom, by insisting they re-sign on terms that are preferrable to the skates... Slippery b*stards, aren't they?
  4. "Morgan Schneiderlin Football Genius" seems to work well too!
  5. Hey Northam - you have a PM from The9. Call us if the ticket is available? Need to confirm. Thanks.
  6. Hey Sandwich - it's "S" I'm also aware of someone looking for a ticket - we're in Varsity from 12.30 if you haven't shifted it on to geoffrey. ;-)
  7. We didn't get -10 for exiting Admin - we got it for entering Admin, as did the skates. The FL were very clear when they stated the terms for giving PFC2012 the golden share - when they exited Admin - one of those terms was "-10 because the creditors from CVA1 were not given the opportunity to vote for/against the diluting of monies owed under CVA1. The skates OS then ran a news item asking for CVA1 creditors to get in touch - as part of their plan to appeal the -10. If they give the CVA1 creditors the chance to say "yay or nay" to CVA2, then they could have a get out of the -10..... Of course, even if the CVA1 creditors DO vote FOR CVA2, the club could come out admin without agreeing (or paying) a CVA2, if they have sufficient points in the bag to prevent relegation - it would save them some cash! Conversely - if they need the 10 points to remain "competitive" at the top of the table, then they may have to choose another route (ie. not leaving admin or agreeing CVA2) Plenty more twists and turns yet, I think! Whichever way it goes, the most fun is to be had by us and not them! (Hi Eurosaint - good to catch up again yesterday! Perhaps a little earlier to the pub next Sunday?!) ;-)
  8. The -10 does indeed relate to CVA1, although the penalty was imposed because they didn't give the creditors who form part of CVA1 the chance to vote on the revised offer when incorporating CVA1 into CVA2... The scaly phew won't be making that same mistake again. When (if) CVA2 is discussed and implemented, they will surely consult the creditors from CVA1 this time around? If they agree to the new terms, then they still won't get a further -10 points for this second Admin/CVA. Of course, if they're wanting to stay "one step ahead" - as they have managed each stage of the way so far - then they will see how well they are doing this season and "decide" on exiting Admin dependant on a number of factors: 1) Do the creditors from CVA1 agree to the new terms? 2) Do we have enough points to ignore the creditors of CVA1 (whether consulted or not) and take a 10 point hit without it affecting our league position (in either direction) There is still plenty of "wriggle room" for the phew to play with - and stretch the bounds of decency, legality and morality still further! :-/
  9. We can expect them all to be deliriously happy when the FL decide that Chinny isn't a FAPP then, can we? The FL tell them that they're not going to allow a loan shark into Portsmouth as it doesn't look promising for their future - and they are liquidated instead. Portsmouth fans will be hailing the new strength of the FL in protecting their club from dubious characters...... no? thought not.
  10. Slugs?! What have they ever done to you!
  11. Have to agree with Pilchards. "Chambo" could turn into the new Shearer, given a chance. Great young player with talent, focus and goals! Ward-Prowse as the new Steve Williams? Could be! He's got the calmness on the ball and the ability to pick the right pass or skip past his marker. All the youngsters are welcome additions to the squad and I just hope that the fans can see them for what they will give us in the future - supporting them, even if they make a few errors. If the management think they can bring something to the team, then trust them. These lads (and more) will be the making of SFC.
  12. My parents have one down in Weymouth and its brilliant! Some things to think about.... 1) Don't get one too far away from home. Weymouth is c.1hour away and its great for a late weekend away, without all the planning. 2) Some come with "proper" central heating. if you're thinking of using it in the winter months - this should be considered. More expensive to buy, but the use you'll get by knowing you can stay warm...... 3) Local facilities - most sites have a pool (or pools) and some sort of entertainment complex. One with childrens club will go down a storm - as they will get to know the team and give you a few hours peace and quiet! If you're considering Haven, let me know and we canget you a referral! ;-)
  13. It is very likely that Mr Cortese is courting interested parties, in the same way that he courted the idea to Mr L. He has contacts with plenty of money to invest in sound projects. If Saints are promoted this season, then stage two of the Cortese plan will be to take us up a further notch - and that will mean serious money and a further commitment from our owner. If the Liebherr estate can get a strong return on their investment, whilst leaving Cortese at the helm and with further substantial backing for the Stage Two business plan, then I think they would take that (and most Saints fans would be happy too) So, Saints may well be "up for sale" - at the right price and with the understanding that a certain exec at the top of the tree remains in charge (as he is likely yo be the introducer too)
  14. Surely the "miscellaneoous email monkey" would write - "you're name's not down your not cummin inn"? Yours, confused ;-)
  15. and presumably they pay their tax bill every month?! That's a key difference!
  16. Or.... is Norris in AA's pocket - he was the one that allowed the Admin application and allowed AA to be appointed, despite HMRC's concern about his independence. This could all be a stage managed, pre-pack Admin all over again..... Anyone with an ounce of sense would see the insolvency and send them straight to the WUP hearing.... I just hope this judge has't been re-allocated for any other reason than he knows the case and can act accordingly....
  17. I hadn't noticed that! ;-)
  18. A quick google of "validation order" explains that whilst accounts are frozen as soon as a WUP is issued - where there may be a need to pay out (for example: staff wages), the validation order can be granted by a court. HOWEVER, the court would also hear representation that any PAYE or NI that said wages should accrue would HAVE to be paid "on time" (presumambly by the 19/20 of the following month?).... Therefore, any wages paid as a result of a validation order would result in the appropriate PAYE/NI bill being paid almost exactly at the time the WUP would be heard in court.....
  19. So, if Lambert heads off somewhere... the frontline look like: Lee Sharp ?
  20. With the exception of not having to pay a shareholders dividend, no mortgage payments and possibly a slightly slower revolving door for the managerial office? Fiscally, we appear to very prudent - whilst taking advantage of opportunities that come our way. We also seem less needy of the type of sale that was all too prevalent during Mr Lowe's time in charge. ??
  21. LoL! Gotta luv Minty! ;-) FWIW - I agree with all that Minty says!
  22. Not got much to add really however: Followed by....
  23. And so it came to pass - more people deserted the Saintsweb Forum due to "regulars" who can't debate the point raised without simply wasting everyone else's time for no good reason. Shame.
  24. Maybe AA is praying that the plucky little club can beat their neighbours at the weekend - then he can tout the club around the far east/russia as being one "on the up - having just beaten the side at the top of the league"...... Or maybe he'll just be outside FP signing autographs.....
