  1. Hants side unchanged Essex elect to field against Worcs
  2. Good read, thanks for posting.
  3. Thought we showed great composer and patience to break down the 10 man opposition in the second half. Wanyama was superb when he came on, and Gardos looked impressive. Really excited about what we could achieve this season, especially if we give the cup competitions a good go.
  4. Are we or are we not related to Robert the Bruce? Each of us has 2 parents, 4 (2x2) grandparents, 8 (2x2x2) great grandparents, 16 (2x2x2x2) great great grandparents … (rising 2 to the power of x for every generation) Let’s say an average generation lasts 25 years. Robert the Bruce died in 1329 (let’s say this is 27 generations ago) So back then each of us had (2 to the power of 27) great, great … grandparents, which is 134,217,728, let’s round this to 134 million. Hang on, the population of Britain c1329 is estimated as only 4 million! This can only mean one or all of the following: 1/ We’re all probably related to Robert the Bruce. 2/ We’re all definitely inbred 3/ I’m sh1t at maths.
  5. Considering his steady knocks in the CC at the end of last season (couple of 50s IIRC), and in this year’s 50 over comp (another couple of 50s and 10n/o in 4 inns), I’m not surprised to read Weston say that Terry is feeling very disappointed. Personally, I’d like to see Terry play next week instead of Alsop. Regarding the Tahir / Briggs situation, I’d have been celebrating just like every other Hants fan if Tahir had spun us to victory this week; so I suppose that means I’m a hypocrite when I say I’m not particularly comfortable with the decision to bring him over for these final two games. Nevertheless, next week I’d play Tahir. As for Wheater / Bates, Wheater is obviously the better batsman – he seemed reckless yesterday, but that’s his style and maybe he was following instructions to take the attack to the bowlers – but I would like to have seen Bates given another full season to see if he could have improved his batting, but that's water under the bridge now. Next week I’d play Wheater. Gatting anyone?
  6. Match drawn! Brilliant display by Smith, and well done Tommo. Well chuffed!
  7. There has to be a minimum of 16 overs after 4.30pm I believe (minus 2 if a wicket falls after 4.30pm)
  8. 208/8. Looks like just a 5 point lead going into week, unless Smith plus one can perform some heroics in the next hour.
  9. 207/7 Wood gone for 0. F*cking hell
  10. Hants 196/5, Wheater gone for 1 - sh1t I'm starting to look like Redknapp
  11. Hants 190/4, only 34 runs ahead – I’m starting to get a bit twitchy
  12. I’m wondering whether the weather will play a part today – it’s raining here in South Devon at the moment.
  13. Jeez, McGrath was obviously more of a man than me! I remember accidentally splashing Sloan’s liniment on my ‘nads once – the pain was so bad I had to dangle the flaming things in a mug of ice cold water for a couple of hours.
  14. I was just moving down to the front of the Milton ready to give Branfoot some abuse when Horne hit that injury time screamer!
  15. The 1977 Cup replay versus Forest was pretty special as well. Know exactly what you mean about the cigarette smoke!
  16. Tremendous comeback since lunch! Brilliant by Ervine – still showing his worth to the side. Smith proving, again, what a good acquisition he’s been this season. Will be delighted if we can see this through for a draw – or how about we declare tomorrow teatime and let Tahir perform his magic on a turning track!
  17. Is it a Spot the Difference competition? I'm rubbish at those Edit. Oh it's changed again, stop messing with my brain tpbury!
  18. 127/3 at stumps. It's gonna be tense tomorrow.
  19. I had no idea Bear was so horny
  20. Lot of pressure on young Alsop's shoulders. Think the forecast is good (or bad)
  21. Just one, sadly
  22. Well, at least Essex have missed out on 2 batting points, which is something to be grateful for with Kent now having amassed in excess of 500.
  23. Ship ahoy Pompey Bletch! – I’ve always seen you as more of a sailor than an emperor; therefore, I agree to take you up on your first suggestion. Then, depending on how that goes, I might reconsider my decision to vote Toke.
