Come on… stick to the narrative that the goal and chances were despite what the management are instructing the players to do.
-
You missed the slow possession in the final 1/3, as per your point… oh wait, naughty Cameron went against what we all know to be specific instructions from the boss.
-
Or play through the 1/3s like the beautiful Archer goal against the Arse.
-
Apparently Potter turned the Leicester job down in the summer, if that’s true, the likelihood of him coming to us is slim.
-
Change in ownership?

Name checks out

I feel sorry for you. The most obvious answer is we win then it can all be “despite Russball, not because…” or some such bollocks.

Football is a funny old game…. The gulf in quality between the 2 clubs would suggest we have a near zero chance of leaving their place with anything. I would fucking love it if we did grab something. Arteta is such a cunt on the sidelines, the more raggy he gets the worse his team plays. 4-3-3 please and gorgeous dollop of luck. Up the fucking Saints!!

First half looked like a 4-2-2-2: 2 pivots, 2 wide and 2 up top. Second half I think we started 4-3-3, 1 pivot, when Lallana came on it seemed more of a 3-4-3.

I didn’t like what seemed to be a front 2 of Fernandes and Dibling but we started alright, couple of half attempts on goal in the first 15 minutes. Bournemouth hadn’t really caused us a problem (from a hazy memory) until that quick free kick, which was brilliant from Tavernier and Evanillson (sp?) and not so good from THB. The really concerning thing is our reaction to that set back, it’s a recurring theme now and is very disappointing to see. We go from being in the game to being completely out of it, unable to wrestle back the control or at least parity in the game and look so fragile that the oppo can score with every attack. We did look better in the 2nd half when the shape changed to a more apparent 4-3-3, even when it changed again to a 3 at the back but unfortunately I think that’s more to do with the state of the game, it was done. Clearly the team and management group are hurting, I genuinely hope they can turn things around so we don’t capitulate at the first set back but I’m not seeing any signals that is happening any time soon.

One of the few players to come out of last nights game with any credit.
-
Yeah, cos they are like for like scenarios.
-
Fuck me, football can be a cruel mistress at times. Gutted.
-
Considering what is known but more importantly what isn’t known, how can you be confident?
-
I’m not sure Ipswich do change their way of playing that much, from the admittedly few games I’ve seen of them over the past 13 months. They will sit in, they will look to hit you on the break. They were bloody good at it last season.
-
I’m guilty of bad copy too. The way your post read was to suggest we had lost loads of games from winning positions. We know we didn’t, so all good.
-
3 losses then, 1 more than the best 2 teams of last season. The winning positions to draws is what cost us.
-
Yep, that post should definitely have the word potentially in it. Poor copy on my part.
-
Seems the answer is not to respond then, but you know that. Please add your own sugar coating to this message.
-
Wow sounds like we lost a lot of games from winning positions last season…. Or did we?? Did we really lose lots of games from a winning position? More than normal for a team finishing top 6? Leicester away was fucking annoying.
-
It’s a fact it was a poor penalty. It’s a fact it has an effect on the game. You can’t speculate beyond that.
-
Are we selecting just the 4 premier league games and evidencing that as solid proof. Think he deserves a bit more respect than that.
-
Completely, although I suspect we may differ on how to best achieve that but that’s football.
-
Where’s your solid proof for this claim??
-
Far from a certainty, I’d say a probable reality. Many promoted teams suffer the same outcome and, apparently, the gap between the 2 divisions is widening.
