the whole.. ''I love the club'' scares me!
-
Taken from skysports Rupert Lowe has described financially-troubled Southampton's plight as a 'tragedy' with unthinkable consequences. Lowe left his role as executive chairman of Southampton Leisure Holdings PLC, the company which owns Championship club Saints, after it entered administration last week. The future looks bleak for Saints, who are more than £30million in debt, but they have so far avoided a 10-point penalty which is automatically dished out to clubs entering administration. Saints, who are looking for a buyer amid fears they will fold before the end of the season, believe they should avoid the deduction which has been handed to other clubs such as Leeds, Darlington, Bournemouth and Luton because the club itself is not in administration. Very serious The Football League board met on Tuesday to discuss Southampton's situation, but will reconvene once they have the findings of an independent forensic accountancy report available. "It is a very serious situation," Lowe, who returned to Saints in May 2008, told Sky Sports News. "For the holding company to be placed into administration itself, it's a tragedy. "Obviously, if finance isn't forthcoming, the consequences really don't bear thinking about." Love Lowe believes the responsibility for Saints' predicament must be shared by all at the club. He added: "Everybody who has been involved in the club, whether that's the board, everybody, has to bear a little bit of the blame." Lowe maintains he will help Saints in any way possible and has not ruled out a future return. "I wouldn't back away - if I could help I'd definitely help," he added. "Surprising as it may sound, I love the club." The last sentance worries me somewhat...!

I know someone at the CAS - Iain Blackshaw, if it went that far, i reckon he'd take pity on us, spoke to him the other day and told him i thought admin was due v soon, he told me about the loophole and that because sfc is a plc, we'd be fine. The CAS do things by the book. http://www.tas-cas.org Chris

Make it into more of an entertainment date too, with Craig David playing as well, and poss Coldplay if Champion could convince the band, and you're onto a winner. Bit like a superbowl, (half time entertainment show) but not.

Post of the bloody century!

Fantastic! :-D

Seems like most are going to Wetherspoons, so i'll be there from about probably 2-3-4 ish, depends how long it takes me to get to Watford from Wycombe, Trains take about 2 hrs cos they want me to go from Wycombe to Marylebone, then to Euston, then Watford high street. Anyone feel like helping me see if i can find a quicker route...? How far's Vicarage road from Watford station, as opposed from Junction and High Street?
-
Who's going, when are we getting there, and finally where are we drinking pre-match? I'm going with a mate, and we're getting there as early as poss probs 1 or 2, dependent on trains tube etc... Watford high street has a few decent places, but i'd rather have a pre-match sing song with other sfc fans! ;-p COYR!

http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/movers_and_shakers/article6031890.ece Balanced start to the argument, could argue that basically he was a pillock to change his spots and side with Wilde, but then the article begin to lick his arse. But just remember we are just trying to look at facts. Interestingly he mentions Barclays and what's happened.

Returns to St Mary's, as a lawyer.. Uncanny resemblance

Well, with my knowledge of stadium sponsorship naming rights, its not a pittance. My example - Wycombe Wanderers, without a massive story, in 2002 the club was desperate for a sponsor and offered naming rights as part of the package, which was bought by Causeway Technologies for £250k. The shirt sponsorship deal the club did was only worth circa £120,000 with Loans.co.uk Every little helps..
-
Why? Cos its bloody profitable. Apart from the Beeb who don't like advertising, everyone else would know the stadium as the ''insert sponsor's name here'' St Mary's stadium, and whilst the name is not synopsimous with the football club, would it really matter? Whore the club out... Does it matter how we make money now?

I should also mention, with my previous post, if anyone wants to ask me anything, please don't hesitate to get in touch via PM

Whilst not having any spare cash knocking about would mean i'm out of any financial contribution, I'd be happy to pledge my work towards any effort to save the club. Over the past three years i've studied various topics including; Commercial Management and Administration of Clubs, Sports Leisure and Coaching Law, International Football Management, Marketing and Economics and also Sports Media Management as part of a three year course into Sports Management. I may not be able to contribute financially, however I may be able to provide other benefits towards saving the club and making it strong again. All for free.

I doubt that'll happen, they've had the chance many a time to get involed and never before, whats difference now...

C'mon then How would fans react if.... Rupert, Crouch, Wilde et al turned up paying their fifteen quid on Saturday and being there on the terraces with the fans, as opposed to the directors box, in Saints shirts. Thats the show of unity we all need. We should have 32,000 red and white shirts, not 29,000 and 3,000 suits. Lets face it, Rupert would take a lot of balls to do it, and i've only ever seen him wearing an SFC shirt once, and that was in a testimonial...
-
No point, what the bloody club now needs is unity!
-
Minty, i'm sure Master Bates will be interested in what you found :-0
