Well said, Frank! You need to pay up so you can post more often - the voice of sanity.

I was thinking 2-0 Coventry. But then my heart told me it was time for another run of good-ish results. It is, isn't it? Could we score, at least, tonight?

But people still end up homeless in the UK. There are pros and cons to every country. Being in this country and employed gives my wife access to all sorts of expensive drugs that are either rationed or not available on the NHS. On the other hand, if we were out of work with no insurance, it would be very different. Either Medicare or Medicaid (don't remember which is which - one for the retired, one for the uninsured) might be available but we would be faced with some very expensive bills. As for help with housing, etc, you are on your own.

I did say I can't read!

I'm proud to be a citizen of both countries. This guy forgot the lesson wherever you live - put some money aside for a rainy day. Maybe not in an Icelandic bank but under the mattress would have been a good idea.

I have forgotten how to read since I moved here. Wait a minute...

Yeah, we don't do irony, so what's your point?

When people get upset about immigration over here, I often ask them how many generations their family have been here or if they have a problem with me being here as I am a recent, albeit legal, immigrant. They mutter something and change the subject. Edited for my other point - when Arnold became governor of California, there were some short-lived rumblings about changing the rule so he could run for President.

I was wondering what we would do if we got a penalty

I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Actually most Americans have as much common sense as people in the rest of the world. Its the vocal minority that you become aware of. IMHO
-
Tell me it is so.

Ouch!

Sadly, no, it is not

Unbelieveable.

Surman scored one at Doncaster, although he missed one as well, why didn't he take one?
-
Sounds like we are playing well, patience, everyone.

Want to rethink that?

another penalty...

Hmmm...that's conclusive! As if the guard was going to say "yeah, we beat him, every day". It makes sense that they would want to keep him alive as his father was an Admiral in the Navy, so a good bargaining chip and propaganda tool. When he was released, he had no reason to embellish his story. Obviously by thetime his autobiography came out, he had greater ambitions. Not that i am saying I will vote for him.

A couple of years ago they were down 3 games to none and losing in the fourth but came back to beat the Yankees in game 7. They have experience of being in a deep hole.

Surprised Equalizer hasn't bumped this now his Phillies are in the World Series. Great comeback by the Red Sox to stay alive last night.

I don't think they can stop him but I don't think he will be assassinated. As for corruption, don't get me started. If you insist though, pork is a good place to begin.

This is the kind of nonsense that gets people over here a bad name. Fact is that anyone who runs for president is going to have skeletons in the closet somewhere that people will twist to their advantage. I haven't heard the suggestion from BTF that McCain wan't torured in Vietnam - even the left leaning media here probably wouldn't dare suggest that but I find it hard to believe that could have been covered up. I do believe McCain is too old, he has leant to the right to get the extreme right on his side. He made a bad choice for VP. I believe Obama is inexperienced but I think he will do more to rebuild American relations with the rest of the world. I will probably pay more in taxes if he wins. This is my first opportunity to vote here. Who do I vote for? A tough choice between two flawed candidates. 18 days to decide.
