Who is going to want to manage a club where every game might be your last? ie. game-by-game contract. How can you build something with that kind of a deal? Newcastle are a joke.
-
I can't believe the FA charged Boothroyd. talk about making a bad situation worse! I'm sure he was out of line. But they could have been a bit lenient given that the ref f'ked up! Just wait till another club appeals for £30m when Reading win the league on goals scored
-
We simply must get at least a point at Doncaster or heads may drop beyond recovery.
-
The return of Svensson has done little to shore up the defence. They all sound like they've never seen eachother before. Bialkowski has gone downhill since we first signed him- maybe time to get rid.

Yes!! Stern john!!

well. That's the end of that then.

Optimism sweeps through the thread. 3-0 Saints

Who is faster at going down USAIN BOLT or SAINTS
BotleySaint replied to SOTONS EAST SIDE's topic in The Saints
Because we didn't score in 1 game? oh noes. Lets forget that a few days ago we scored 2 against Ipswich. -
I thought Best was just starting to look ok when we he refused the contract and left us. He scored a couple of goals to help us into the play-offs. Ok so he scored the freak own-goal and missed a penalty too... But I was starting to like him,

Why did we play Derby and Birmingham off the park?
BotleySaint replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
Against Brum there always seemed to be options for people on the ball to pass to. Easy options. Playing close together in small passing triangles and good variation of backwards and forwards passing. I've missed the last couple of games - but is it that people now don't want the ball/responsibility? Confidence. -

Totally agree. It is all that's keeping me going. We could play like that! -
Steve, please email the club with the list

He has improved since he started. Still remember him giving the ball away to allow Reading to score a couple of years ago. At that time he was a rabbit in the headlights. But now at least he has some "presence". I just don't think he's good enough for the first team yet... perhaps in time?

I presume Vignal is just kicking his heels back at Lens? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gr%C3%A9gory_Vignal We ought to get him back!

Confidence probably. We lost a few games, turned in a bad performance and heads have dropped. One or two defeats can be taken if you play well. But everyone eventually has a crap game - its how you pick yourself up from it. Ours was Blackpool. We picked ourselves up by losing 4-1 (not so good) and scraping 2-2 draw with Ipswich (which is ok). Then hopefully, rediscovering our confidence by thrashing Barnsley this weekend :-) The loss of Lee Holmes and the drop in form/injuries of Michael Svensson doesn't help either. Both are, on their day, our best players. -
Gillet isn't a first choice midfielder but is a good squad player, we need those! In the absence of anything better he at least has energy and usually makes good tackles.
-
Probably considered "out muscled" but if that had been the other way around I wonder if it'd have been a penalty. More dodgy refereeing.
-
We'll ignore the fact Blackstock was fouling him (sort of). But I still agree, totally shambolic defending from Saints.
-
If the defence gets sorted. Yes. Or we could look forwards to weekly 5-5 thrillers!
-
To be fair, I wouldn't put hard work and stern john into the same sentance But Pekhart would have been worth a go!
-
Hopefully Jan will learn from this and put in our more experienced players next time. Perry and John must surely start on Wednesday. McGoldrick started the season well but has gone back to being crap. Dyer has never impressed me in his time at the club and can't cross a ball to save his life. Lallana and Davis are the only reasons we didn't lose 7 or 8-0 today.
-
Hopefully we can pull ourselves out of the relegation zone. Or we might get too comfortable there for the rest of the season.
-
To make this Saints related: A bunch of ex-Saints playing. Shearer, Le Saux and Redknapp Jr :-)

10 days to go... I hate the international break. I want us to get back out there and turn in a good performance after the dismal Blackpool game. Grrrr!!

You mean you tripped over him last week?
