Watford - Biggest Game In Our History?
saints_is_the_south replied to St Marco's topic in The Saints
The biggest game in our history was Manchester United at home in May 2005. Anyway you are in dream land if you can see us beating Bristol City & Sheff Wed away. -
We'll be there about half 10 doing exactly the same! Looking forward to it.
-
I'll be on the 8am train with 3 others with plenty of leaflets, will be good to see other fans handing them out aswell! If you're willing to hand them out too maybe we could meet in the same pub & get them going round there first? Our first stop is the Moon Under the Water on the high street for brekkie!

15 games to go how many points?
saints_is_the_south replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
If we are mathematically safe after the Burnley game i'll donate £100 to charity. -
Good pub guide here guys: http://www.gloryhorns.co.uk/pubs.php

An idea of Wilde/Crouch's to reward those who had been ST holders since St Marys opened in 2001 (hence club 2001). Never happened though.
-
1 every 10-15 mins, only 1 direct every hour though, you have to change on the others according to National Rail.
-
Yeah. Hopefully Stu has the 'leaflets' ready so i can print off a few hundred off by Saturday & hand them out at the game.
-
Clapham is easiest. To get to Euston you'll have to get the tube from Waterloo over to Euston & then the train up from there where as Clapham you just get off & jump straight on another train. Ofcourse if you're wanting to head into Central London first then Euston will be yer best bet. Just worked out a group save for 4 return to Waterloo is £15.10 each, plus £6.40 return from Clapham to Watford Junction. Works out far cheaper than £36.90 return if you buy a 'Southampton to Watford' ticket.
-
I like this idea. Sure it would be complicated at the start but if a club the size of Ebbsfleet can do it then i see no reason why we couldn't do it.
-
Found this rather useful piece of information: http://www.gloryhorns.co.uk/pubs.php We'll be starting off with brekkie in the Moon Under the Water, after that who knows!
-
As long as i was given proof that it was going directly into the clubs coffers & helping to pay off the debt & not lining Lowe & cos. pockets then i would probably say yes. If Lowe/Wilde were to then say whatever the fans raise, we will match or double then yes for sure.
-
By my reckoning we'd need 6,666 adults at £300 to make £2m then. I assume they'd all have to be paying upfront too & not by the pay monthly plan.
-
Will be more than happy to distribute them at Watford on Saturday, and also to people taking part in the march from the Bargate to the stadium before the Preston game. Thinking about the walk out for the Preston game. We need to make sure people who have said they are comitted to walking out do so regarding of whether we have started the game well or not, also keeping those ST holders together would be good. We need to all enter the stadium together, or atleast those in the northam enter together, those in kingsland...etc Then as it strikes 5 minutes a few blasts of walk out if you want Lowe out followed by OWTSGM..OUT

I would say we need atleast 17 points, and even that might not be enough. We should be aiming to finish the season on 50 points, i can't see it myself. Watford (A) - L Bristol City (A) - L Preston (H) - D Cardiff (H) - L Ipswich (A) - D Birmingham (A) - L Derby (H) - W QPR (H) - D Blackpool (A) - W Charlton (H) - W Wolves (A) - L Crystal Palace (H) - D Sheff Wed (A) - L Burnley (H) - L Nottm Forest (A) - D I give us 14 points, & i think I've been pretty kind to us on a few games there. That would leave us on 42 points, not enough IMO. Between the middle of March & start of April we have 3 home games in 4 & 3 of them against relegation rivals, i think the amount of points we pick up from these games will decide our fate. -

Im 19 & whilst being a Saints fan all my life, I've only had a season ticket for the last 3 seasons & been going to games regularly since the cup final season. My biggest regret is not going to more games back then, although I'm glad to say i was at the two derby wins in the 03/04 season
-
I must have been at a different game to you. He was equally as bad as McGoldrick, if not worse IMO. At times he was just stood (not on his toes waiting for the ball) and looking around to people in the crowd. I lost count the amount of times an attack broke down he then just 'jogged' back leaving Surman against 2 players. He's showed promise in previous games but he was useless last night, much like the rest of the team,

And then starting March with two aways games, one of them against Birmingham. I think we might get a point against Preston, the rest we'll lose.
-
4 of us going up via Clapham Junction, brekkies in Moon Under the Water followed by more beer. Looking forward to it even if we are going to get tonked again!!
-
Another possible venue - Bar Risa, £1.90 a pint!
-
I think it would be a sensible idea for the club either to: A) Release prices based on what divsion we'll be in around March time & then start renewals in May (they could even call it May madness then!) or B) Not release any information on ST renewals until May. If they go down the same road they did when we got relegated from the prem (having same prices for prem/CCC football) then i don't think we'll even see 5k ST holders renew

96 said yes on here, 80 confirmed attendee's on FB (i apprieciate that some of the FB members will be some of the yes's on here). I reckon we've got about 150 ready to do it so far within the first day of the idea taking place. Given we still have 2.5 weeks left to organise it, i think we could have as many as we did on the march. 1,000 walking out would be great!
-
I had the idea of handing them out to fans as they enter the stadium before the game. If we had 2 fans per stand this could work, just handing out a4 leaflets, even if they are just plain a4 pieces of paper explaining how the protest is going to work. People can then make the decision whether or not they want to take part.
