In no terms should McClaren be compared to Capello given his record.

Glad I'm not the only one. It's like when I'm sat here in the office sweltering & everybody else wants a coffee/tea. Apparently drinking a warm drink when you are hot cools you down. I tried it & it just makes me even hotter!

Another valid point & one that i also made last night. It was just baffling that Gerrard was playing on the left whilst we had a left footed player playing in the middle.

Here is a handy website with guides to football grounds all across the world: http://www.stadiumguide.com/sansiro.htm Also the the tour website is here: http://www.sansirotour.com/english/index.html

Agreed, it should be Lampard that is dropped. I haven't got a problem with Rooney coming deep or drifting out wide but at times last night he was dropping back as far as the half way line. Also when he was going out wide none of the midfielders were getting up to support Defoe leaving him completely isolated and also meaning Rooney had to keep passing it backwards as he didn't have any options going forward. This would be my team for the 2 qualifiers. James Richards - Terry - Rio - A Cole Beckham - Gerrard - Barry - J Cole Rooney - Defoe

Does anybody have any idea how much appearance fee money the players get for playing? Just another debate we were having in teh pub last night.

The entire England team. -
Just had a big debate in the pub over whether they should get paid for playing for England. Shockingly it was 3 arguing against me that they should!! I rate Capello as a coach a lot but he got it so wrong tonight. 1. Wes Brown is not a right back, why the feck is Micah Richards in the U21. 2. From my point above we had 3 centre backs in in defence. 3. We had 3 central midfielders playing in the middle. 4. Either Gerrard or Lampard MUST be dropped. Gerrard was supposed to be playing on the left but he was all over the pitch. Lampard was sh*t as usual & Barry was again our best midfielder. 5. Because of the above Rooney was virtually a left midfielder. The only players worth their shirts after tonight imo are Beckham & Bentley. And as for goalkeeper, they might aswell set up trials for the general public!

Nope, managed 17 last year. The thing is with all the walking you actually tend to slightly sober up between each one so it is indeed very possibly & quite easy to do, all IMO ofcourse!

Thought i'd get this one going as i'm doing one on Sunday. Me & a few mates have started a annual pub crawl from Hythe to Fawley on the Sunday of every August bank holiday weekend. The list of pubs are as follows... Hythe Salt Bar The Hobbit Seashells Lord Nelson Ebineezers Malt & Hops The Croft Travellers Rest Fountain Court Hotel Gleneagles Holbury Forest Home Old Mill Holbury Inn Blackfield Hampshire Yeoman Fawley Falcon Hotel 15 pubs this year. Last year it was 17 but unfortuantely the Langley Tavern & Jolly Sailor are both shut. Still, should be another good laugh. Anybody else got a pub crawl coming up or recently done one & do you have any rules (e.g. pint in every one..etc)

Food/Drink missed from other Countries

I love Italian food & i know its obviously easy to get over here but nowhere near as good as it is in Italy. -
Oh dear

I've been to a fair few Roma games in Italy & i've only ever witnessed any trouble once in a game Vs Juve. The media make the trouble out to be a lot worse than it actually is IMO. Sure Italy has a violence problem when it comes to football but it isn't as bad as it is made out to me. If you are sat in one of the tribuna's (stands along the side of the pitch) you'll be fine. Even sitting behind the goal isn't a problem. I've been in amongst the 'ultra's' before i can genuinley say that the large majority of them are just normal guys who love their team.

http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk is very cheap - We got 10 nights in Tenerife for £4.50 per night in a 3 star hotel in June!

Another excuse to go up the pub & watch it IMO. Btw Setanta have all England friendlies & away qualifiers too.

If you want to get tickets before hand try http://www.footballencounters.co.uk another good one for Roma or Lazio games is http://www.romalazio.co.uk Italian clubs usually announce ticket details a week before the game, and they go on sale 5 days before the match, atleast this is the case with Roma anyway. Here is details of prices & a map of the stadium sections for the Super Cup game on Sunday Vs Roma to give you some idea on ticket prices per section: http://www.inter.it/it/biglietti/supercoppa08/ Oh and the best hotel website around when it comes to Italy (IMO) is http://www.venere.com

B*stard! Thought that was Surman then.

Currently around £55 return to Rome around November time with Ryanair.
-
Been on a stadium tour, never to a game there though. Only ground i've been to for a game in Italy is the Olimpico in Rome.
