OK, I can understand this but if I go to the game on the train I will have my tablet in my bag to either play games or read a book, basically passing time on the tedious train journey. So, if I can't take it into the bowl, what am I supposed to do with it during game time? They're obviously not going to want to store it for me until after the match and I'm not going to use a locker at the railway station (if they still exist).

I think you have already decided that he is no good so go into the match with a pre-determined mindset. I am open-minded and the matches I've seen him play he has played well, not up there with the best but more than adequate. Like I say give him more game time and a regular partner..
