  1. Maybe we should all buy planes.
  2. John Gorman will be pleased to hear that.
  3. I've heard its getting smelly as the sewers cant cope with all the new buildings. There's an article on the bbc about it today.
  4. Never think of the dreaded 'S' word. Will be curtains if that gets in your head. Very good point though, leave thinking for the range and just hit the thing when on the course. Also a good point is to never go to the range or practice area without a plan. Without having planned what you are going to do differently, you will simply be practising whatever you were doing wrong before, thus further engraining it into your muscle memory.
  5. I agree with the whole being dead against dying argument. Being dead is just like before you were born, in so much that you didn't exist and therefore fealt nothing. I assume after you die will be quite similar. The actual process of dying though is a tad scary. Hope I just drift off in my sleep not knowing i'm dying, rather than a slow deterioration in my health where that is all i would inevitably think about.
  6. I have been playing for ten years (6 handicap) and realised after about five years of tinkering that clubs, really dont make that much difference. When you are at the standard you are you will be fine with a beginners cheapo set. I would recomend looking for a good set of 2nd hand irons when you get down to about a 15 hdcp. No point in buying any golf clubs new. Just echo what everone else is saying that when you are first beginning advice from a PGA pro is invaluable as they will ensure you get the basics correct (grip, posture etc). I would get more lessons myself if I could afford them, but I live in St Andrews where golf is big business and so lessons cost big money. My annual membership of 7 courses only costs me £165 though, so I suppose I cant really complain about expensive lessons.
  7. That is not good
  8. Is without doubt one of the worst films I've ever seen. Johnny Depp's worst film and even the amazing John Tarturo couldn't save a really lame story.
  9. We dont realise how good we have it. Wouldn't want to live anytime in the past, but would have a crack at the future. 200 years or so. Bet it would be amazing and obviously there is the excitement of going into the unknown.
  10. I think we just have for people from outside the EU. Some kind of points system.
  11. I hope he can play right back
  12. Problem was Lancashire was having to play centre back and full back as James was nowhere to be seen half the time. I even remeber him fouling someone over in the left back position. Lancashire was not great but, was not helped by the fact he had no full back playing by the side of him. That needs to get sorted pronto.
  13. He wasn't sacked he resigned. If he had any balls he could stand up to Boris Johnson of all people, who doesn't actually have the power to sack him. I'd have just stayed to p*ss him off.
  14. Looks like a funnel web to me.
  15. I live in Scotland. And my nearest airport is an hour and a half away.
  16. I'm going to Pokhara in February where they are recruited and staying on the base for two weeks as a mate's husband is a Captain there. Really looking forward to meeting the people out there as they are supposed to be amazingly hospitable. Completely agree that anyone who fights for our country should have all the rights of any other British Citizen.
  17. Obviously varies day by day but i think i'm normally a four. http://www.gillianmckeith.info/yourbody/health/stoolanalysispoochart.php
  18. I thought one of the concessions made to try and get the bill through was that it would only be drawn in installments and would give the US stock in any companies it "bailed out". Thinks there were a few other concessions as well but obviously they didn't go far enough for some peoples liking obviously as it din't work.
  19. As with everything to do with property I guess it dpends on location. Where I live has always been very short of property, so now the fact that many more are looking to rent has just made it worse. Plus its a small University town and the university has increased its intake of students who have added to the pressures on the limited housing stock.
  20. That being said in many areas people who are letting are having quite a good time of it. No-one can raise funds to buy property and as a result are driven to let. Where I live average rents have gone up by 15% in the last six months alone. Obviously the value of their property is falling but extra rent certainly reduces the immediate impact.
  21. I thought Alan Smith
  22. If you say you are finding business is going well, why dont you reduce your working hours in your current job and start training for another alongside it. This way you can make the transition to a new occupation without completely abandoning your safety net.
  23. Yes I agree that government intervening is approapriate. I was just inferring that I would rather the US come up with a bail-out so hopefully we dont have to..
  24. Possibly not the best time to abandon what you know if its giving you a good living. Risky times ahead.
  25. At least I bought it in 2005 so if the value falls by 25% i'll still not make a loss, but its a bit of a nervey time ahead. Hope the American thing does go through so its their tax payers that take the burden and not ours. If this doesn't go through Mr Brown will be forced to come up with soem ideas of his own at our expense.
