HOLMES.......Talented lad who has never FULLY recovered from his leg injury at Derby... Aquired on a wing and a prayer with fingers crossed.. Never able to get up to full fitness/match fitness.. When he gets anywhere near team selection he is unable to play for a big part of the game due to fitness and injury.. Has a great attitude and IF a miracle was to ever happen and he got REALLY fit he would be an asset at this level. His total lack of speed does not allow him to be a regular at any level. I HAVE ALWAYS WONDERED WHY HE HAS NOT GONE OUT ON LOAN TO GET MATCH FIT AND TEST HIS LEG. Will be off when his contract runs out.... In his condition no where near as valuable to the side as Puncheon would be.

Generally very accurate.... NC ..having read this very good description has turned the five year plan into a ten year hope and pray... Basically the point is that we keep the players and get rid of the fans..

Jimmy Melia on his day a craftsman and passing defence splitting passes..link up play was top class.. More often than not I would have off loaded him in January when the pitches got damp... Thats when the likes of Huxford, Gabriel and O'Neil would be in my side.... The three musketeers always had the stock answer.. for the referee, when warned about kicking an opponent into touch.."Don't worry ref he won't be coming back on..problem solved." Played with Cliff Huxford at Basingstoke 75/76 season...Still going great then at the age of 96. Met Cliff at Yeovil last season....Still very fit...Good man and a nice bloke.

PS I wrote to both dubai phil and old nickh about getting Spiderman into one of The saints web forum teams.. because neither replied ..I take it they didn't rate him either. PS As I said I hope he proves me wrong ..if selected for the the next two home games..for starters.. Have just checked my facts and taken a second opinion.......What I said about Spiderman is very accurate.. Not a defensive midfielder......Tackles..few and far between and invariably illegal when he happens to connect. Heading the ball is alien within his armoury. Defence splitting passes/forward passes...few and far between. Motivation/effort/tenacity...lost out there in France on his last Under/21 visit..if not before. I will never be a coach /expert like you..but would rather have Chappers and Hammond in this side before Spiderman any day. Opinions who would have them... I will leave it to our Nigel ..he knows what he is doing....... For your benefit.....Spiderman gets a big kick up the arse...plays again in the two home games....turns his game around and we get a lot more from him and goals from Rikke would help... I will be the first to say corky you are the man...until then let us leave our handbags on the side of the training ground.. Two wins to get us going.. Come on you Saints.

One of my favourite players who has lost his way or not suiting the system anymore... Only hope is that there are good replacements on their way... I believe some of the high earners are moving out...not much hope of getting quality in...but we can wish... Charlie Austin was suggested to Saints many times when he was at Poole and also when he first departed Reading. Steve Morison was suggested to Saints when he was at Stevenage..... NC might be right about our scouting weaknesses in recent years..... PS Mackie was also suggested when he was at Exeter before going to Plymouth for £150,000 and then onto QPR.

MS a defensive mid fielder who is not capable of heading , tackling correctly or marking.. Has gone downhill and has to show a lot more effort , desire and determination.. Very surprised if he plays .... keeps the bench warm on saturday...pity he has no reserve side to learn his trade.. Fancy dan who should be playing in the sunshine elsewhere..

Sad day if he left.......but then again if we part exchanged for .. Striker Steve Morison or centre half Paul Robinson..deal done... Bob Hope or No Hope.. Probably get Terry Hurlock back..........mind you he could still out tackle Spiderman..

Frustrated.... Work all week on my tactics and planning Saints victories..getting the right scores.. and the players mess it all up... I may have to revert to guessing the scores from now on..

A talented player with lots of potential...Not sure where his position is best suited if in the side. Not even sure if his head is right for this level of football. Had my doubts from early on when he was asked to play centre back and was quite apparent that he could not head or tackle. His main asset is his passing and link up play but that seems to be spasmodic.. Confidence gone..maybe... His tackles are late or non existent and therefore more likely to get bookings. Personally think he wants out and has lost his heart for the cause. Other options would suit the side much better.. We need an anchor midfield player. Nothing personal re Spiderman but we need team players now..

Wish he would show some and put a decent shift in for the side.. Needs to give a lot more than he has been giving... Not helping the side at all and is looking to get away.

Always knew we could do it.. Come on you Saints..

Spiderman defending in his own area......Your having a larf.. A liability..no strength or determination. You can blame the others but MS is unable to head the ball or even get off the ground. Not a defender or a defensive mid fielder.....A luxury at the moment..we can ill afford. Come to think of it that applies in both areas. No point in him zonal or man to man marking in those set pieces. As for tackling then ...very slow improvement. If he bothers to get there. Mobility......Leave that to others.. Goalscoring......... This lad has not progressed as expected and does not do it for the Saints. Will Nigel be able to do something with our Premier league star.

As we have all said many times......plan B a nd maybe even Plan c and D ready at any time during a game as required. My concern is that he didn't adapt to the circumstances as required........Why wait til half time...About 15/20 minutes were enough for tweaking the tactics/pattern etc Pointless blaming the players...If they are not doing the job or are not up to it ..then there off..He is the boss and should manage accordingly. I accept that players make mistakes but the game was there to win and the managing decisions came too little and too late.. You and particularly derry were berating Pards for this nearly all the time... I believe Nigel is a good manager and hopefully will get us there sooner than later. But to blame the players is not on....His team, his selection and his tactics. He should have either had Barnard up front or driven his support players further up to support Rikkee........Spiderman is my main concern in the team.....Rikeee wil respond with goals these next few games. Spiderman is a passenger and will need some careful attention/coaching. Still strongly believe that NA will... One day be as good or even better manager than Pards..just wish he would be a little more street wise. As I said before..two wins and everything will look rosy and Nigel will become my hero again. We start the next surge now.. Onwards and upwards our Nigel..more points please. Come on you Saints

Next two home games and our Nigel will be best manager in the world..........Like Pards last season...Although you never gave him credit. In truth NA has the same end product as Pards. Hope Nigel continues with plenty of points here on in. Regarding your statement re Nigel playing to suit others.....Suggest that he trains the team selects the right players and the right tactics for the three points each game. Regardless of what NC wants...Good football will be a bonus. As I said from the the beginning... his team, and it will be his glory or failure. NC will just get another manager whenever he decides it is right for the club. I hope to god that he is not adapting and living with a team that isn't capable of playing the way HE wants.. Surely not.. It is ..His team and the hell they had better play the way he requires them to....Or am I being naive. I begin to wonder if we would have been better sticking with Pards for this season. Then again regardless of our Nigels ability..a few wins and we will all be smiling. Like most fans I want him to get the results in order for us to be at the top where I believe we belong. Whatever you think I still have faith in our Manager and believe we will be right there at the top sooner than later. Come on you Saints. Not so sure Watson would be a good Chief Scout though. Then again that decision would be for Sir Les and NC..God bless them both.
