Any idea if a loan or permanent? Always wanted him to do well. I was so excited when we signed him, but I always had concerned about how he'd fair physically in this league. Jordy leaving basically gurantees PEH more game time as he'll cover both Romeu & Lemina. This might even open up a space for another academy player if we get short of numbers or in cup matches.

BAGGIES READY THIRD GIBSON BID West Brom are expected to return with a third bid for Middlesbrough captain Ben Gibson, according to Sky sources. The Baggies have failed with two bids for the 24-year-old centre-back, with the second offer totalling £20m. Assistant manager Gary Megson told Sky Sports News on Tuesday that the club could complete deals for five transfer targets before Saturday’s opening Premier League match at home to Bournemouth.

I would sell him TBH. (Although it's alleged that Bertrand & Cedric will kick-off if he goes, so I'd probably keep Virgil p*ssed off rather than having another 2 grumpy b*stards around the place).

A sad state of affairs, but really was inevitable. I would've loved for him to agree to stay another year, but the reality is that he's going to forsake a move this summer if he agrees to play etc. I look at the Coutinho situation today and saw the news that he wouldn't "rock the boat" at all. A somewhat rare & classy move by today's standards. If a club doesn't want to sell, and the player doesn't kick-off, then chances are that player will stay. Virgil knows the only way to increase his chances are to kick-off and make enough noise as he possibly can. The club are the bad-guys - They always are with the players that want to leave. Liverpool's tapping up & subsequent apology somewhat complicates things as they now feel they can't bid, so I suppose it gives Virgil all the more reason to spit his dummy out of the pram.

STOKE CLOSE TO INDI DEAL Stoke City are close to completing the signing of defender Bruno Martins Indi from Porto in a cut-price deal, according to Sky sources. Last month, it looked like Crystal Palace were favourites to sign him, even though he spent last season on loan at the Bet365 Stadium - Stoke pulled out of negotiations, because they weren't prepared to meet Porto's demands for a fee over £10m. Now, we've been told the two clubs have shaken hands on a price of around £7.25m, and Martins Indi could sign for Stoke within the next few days.
