  1. Leeds are becoming a bit of a nemesis for players: This, re: The possible Kalvin Phillips deal: City youngsters could be used as makeweights in deals this summer. As reported by The Athletic, Belgian starlet Romeo Lavia has already caught the eyes of Southampton and Leeds United this summer, which could aid the pursuit of Phillips. It is also believed that Leeds are very keen to bring in 19-year-old midfielder James McAtee, whether permanently or on loan. City plan to keep him close to their first-team unit for next season and are not thought to be open to any departure, but their resolve may be tested should the Phillips pursuit drag on. Brighton had been interested in McAtee’s signature last summer, but it is not thought to be an option currently. There are plenty of other young players in the ranks at the Etihad who could come into the equation.
  2. It's been fairly quiet on him since the news of our interest a little while back.
  3. Hope he does well. The first (of likely many) of the euro travellers. (I don’t mean that negatively). If the powers that be feel like he’s worth taking back a punt on, let’s do it.
  4. The Italian has taken on a role as head of business development with Sport Republic and will help the outfit identify new clubs across Europe that may be fit for acquisition.
  5. 👀
  6. The layer comment is an interesting one. I wonder if SR will have people with over-view roles, eventually? Obviously, each club will be run-by different people, but will SR have more people ensuring synergy above the initial club level.
  7. Good shout. Unless they think they can buy him? With Garner, I’m assuming it might be a long-game with him, given Utd’s lack of midfielders (until they sign more &/or EtH looks at him in pre-season).
  8. Hey Siri: What size bag would somebody need, in-order to pack a McAtee, a Palmer, a Delap & a Lavia in?
  9. There are some crazy talented players here: “Of the many talented schoolboys Shields has recruited at City, Southampton have just signed Gavin Bazunu, 20, the Republic of Ireland international goalkeeper who was on loan at Portsmouth last season. The club are also interested in signing Romeo Lavia, the 18-year-old City midfielder whom Shields recruited from Anderlecht in 2020. Among others signed by Shields at City are Liam Delap, Finley Burns, Luke Mbete and Ben Knight who have both made first-team debuts under Pep Guardiola. The likes of Taylor Richards, now at Brighton, and Jayden Braaf and Jamie Brynoe-Gittens, both now at Borussia Dortmund, were all signed from City. Generating fees and training compensation payments for out of contract players is a key part of City’s academy strategy.”
  10. Unsure if it’s the wording but seems to indicate Glover has left.
  11. This is a terrific idea. St Mary's > to Gdansk > to Goztepe Hope the Valenciennes FC deal falls through as we ain't getting a boat near that...
  12. Saints after Isak is SO 2016. https://www.calciomercato.com/news/juve-su-isak-il-nuovo-ibrahimovic-31292
  13. Are they by the sea, @Convict Colony? I'm planning on chartering a boat trip.
  14. #Saintsy, S-Clarke. I like this idea. Any idea what they'd want for him? Kind of feel like we'd need to go big on a striker if they are to fill Broja / Ings boots* [*Various MLG notes such as: Shoe size & "Yes, I understand that just because they are expensive doesn't make them better etc"].
  15. Wowsers! That's impressive.
  16. You're right. Here's who I've got us listed as being linked with: - Taiwo Awoniyi - Vitinha - Liam Delap - Sasa Kalajdzic - Junior Adamu - Ben Brereton Diaz - Stephy Mavididi We've been linked with even less centre-backs, which is quite surprising, too.
  17. FFS. Another George Weah relative!
  18. Yeah. They also, most likely, help to get the deal done. I'm pretty sure I remember reading that Brighton did NOT want it included in their prospective move for Tino.
