This is true. Interested to see how this plays out. We know there’s going to be a mini striker exodus this summer. I wonder how bad the rumoured fallout has been with Ralph?

Good attacking options on the bench too. -
From Mike McGrath (@telefootball) West Ham, Southampton, Brentford and Bournemouth are in a four-way fight for Hull winger Keane Lewis-Potter after expressing interest in the England Under-21 winger. Acun Ilicali, the Hull owner, has insisted he will reject £30 million offers for Lewis-Potter, who he describes as “God’s gift” to him after taking charge at the MKM Stadium last season. The 21-year-old, who has one season left on his contract, scored goals and Ilicali wants him to help mount a promotion charge to the Premier League next season. “Keane is like God’s gift to us,” said Ilicali. “He has extreme potential. He is going to be one of the biggest stars of the future. “Of course, we have big offers for him. If I had any interest in making any money, there cannot be a better deal than that. You buy a football club and you sell the left winger and you make enough money to make all the transfers. “But I reject all of these. Even if they offer £30 million to me, I will not sell him because I think his presence is much more important than anything for this club at the moment. He will be so useful for our team and our fans that I will not lose him.”

Regardless of games, there’s a lucrative market for experienced keepers to be No.2’s & 3’s higher up the league.

Very true. TBF, just beating City would be amazing in itself.

Hard to call it an exclusive when all names attached have been linked prior, but all the names are very “Saintsy”.

We might be looking for a bit of a striker re-build if Broja / Long / Arma all depart.

In positive news, Babic is back in training photos today.

Midfield / Forward players, especially: Doyle / Ballard / Edwards / Dibling / Morgan / Pearce * *MLG notes: Yes, I know they all can’t play together & that there are injury concerns over some of them. —— (Good article on a lot of the squad: https://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/20146556.saints-u18s-hoping-take-manchester-city-playoff/ )

Ornstein also says Benfica looking at him to replace Darwin Nunez, too.

Probably right. Ironically, Angus Gunn is a good benchmark for ££‘s value re: a City keeper. As an aside, I wonder if Fraser will go for games? or will he go for an archetypal Summer move to a City/Chelsea to warm the bench? (Or not even be on the bench as 3rd choice)

Agree with all this. The key to this idea is that the “new, young” GK needs to be bloody good. I’ve said this before, but the City lad is (in theory) the right type - talented, ambitious and, realistically, wouldn’t be far from playing games.

The great goalkeeping purge continues… Good spot, MLG. He needs to play games. Also, SEVEN years?!

Basically matches my memory: “Scottish defender”.

I feel like he’s been linked for several seasons.

Logical move, this one.

Because the championship produces players of identical quality…
