The folly of selling Fonte without adequate backup has gone spectacularly wrong as it only can when involving Southampton FC, We are now with less than a week left in the transfer window and yet again we have yet to secure the additions to the squad we need = (Striker/Centre back for starters). I worry about the arrogance from those in charge.

And the seasons before that we finished 7th and 8th. If we are to be 'Happy' with just surviving then I for one am bloody livid. Some of us have ambitions for our club beyond just staying up and surviving, we should never just write off a season and should always be looking to sustain and improve even if not always possible.

Just dire so far by the sounds of things.

I for one would class myself as an eternal pessimist and maybe am always waiting for things to go wrong(I think being a saints fan does that to you) , The reason I come here mainly is I enjoy discussing the games live with other Saints fans. I understand we all have differing opinions but we are all Saints fans at heart so I never get worked up by other posters or posts. I do think some of the vitriol posted towards the likes of Alpine, Dalek, Batman, Heisenberg is unwarranted and often cruel and personal. These guys are Saints fans as well and they do post a lot of stuff with which I agree. The reason this forum is so good is the diversity of people and opinions imo.

Yet again the Puel safety first defensive ethos of football has seen us lose when we could and should have had the three points sewn up. We just can't seem to punish teams when we are on top, and putting the ball in the net seems a real problem with this system. I still am of the belief that there is enough talent in the squad for us to be doing better, so therefore questions need to be asked of the manager. For what ever reason, it's not working.

It amazes me that 78% of our fanbase are happy with this joker in charge. Yet again we are lifeless and dull. We created absolutely zero when we went behind. We have become such a poor team. He has to go soon, otherwise we are slipping towards a relegation battle.
